im sure he'll still be the #2 back. i think he's on his last year of his contract though, so he could split after this season
I don't want to lose Hunter.

If Gore and Hunter go we will be drafting RB again next year...do not want

Gore likely has 1 year left with team, Latimore and Hyde are going to be bruisers for years to come, Hunter can find work elsewhere and LMJ is key in return game (even though ppl hate him for some reason). O-line is stacked, QB and WR's,TE are set. We're going to be almost unstoppable on O, not only in 2014, but for years to come.

Think of it this way...

Imagine how pissed you got as a fan in '11, '12 and last year in Seattle. Now imagine being the ppl in charge of this failure *Baalke and staff** and they are f**king PISSED beyond any pissed we could ever achieve. They're taking this personally and they're not f**king around, they will get us that trophy back, ZERO doubt in my mind.

Post of the DRAFT. Especially the last paragraph. Effing pumped.

Since The OSU is on TV quite a bit did see Hyde a lot, thought he was pretty good, and then pretty much any pre-draft rankings I saw had him as the #1 RB...shocked no RB's went until the mid-50's, and the 49ers get the guy a lot people had #1. No idea if that was the gameplan going in, or if as the draft progressed they saw an opportunity to get deeper. On paper the pick looks good, hopefully he pans out on the field...but I do hope this isn't beginning of the end for Hunter, still think there's a place for him now and seasons to come.
LOVE THIS PICK!!!!!!!!

I love how the main comment throughout the draft has been about this being a passing league, but yet the two true top teams are not pass first teams. This is an excellent pick for the fact that defenses are getting better and better at stopping the pass and rushing the passer, but stopping the run is becoming somewhat of an afterthought. It gives us the advantage to keep attacking the weakness of all these teams so focused on stopping the mannings and bradys and brees and rodgers of the league.
Teams don't draft RB's in the 1st round anymore, but Hyde is a 1st round talent who was available late, much like Eddie Lacy last year who was also drafted in the 2nd round. I'm ecstatic about Hyde being a Niner and I applaud Baalke and Co. on making this pick. Very intelligent move!

I don't think so. Baalke said it during the season when we went to the SB, the days of a bellcow back are coming to a close, the niners hope to keep running but they are going to do what a lot of teams do, have a three deep rotation of backs. However, always have a b/u plan. Plus after this year only he and lattimore will be under contract if LMJ leaves.

Here is the other thing this guy will come in on short yardage as a power back and will be a load, as strong as Sherman is, he is going to get steam rolled.
On short yardage they run him, use him as a decoy or dump off. The other is we need someone to also back up miller, but Hyde can run the ball on a dive or block for Gore or even Lattimore. Him and Gore on the field, can't assume gore is getting the ball or otherwise. Besides power, shows great balance. The future is secured at RB.
1500 yards plus and 15 tds but missed 3 games!

I love this pick, he'll be the #1 back with Lattimore backing him up next year. Can't wait to see him in red and gold.

Agree with this as well! Tho pains to think gore could possibly be gone next yr :(
We need get frankie G a sb win this yr. :)
I love this pick up. Lattimore and hyde will get a yr to learn behind gore...who is to say gore doesnt resign on the cheap with us next yr tho? We win sb gore just may ride out into the sunset tho.....

We win the Super Bowl Frank will retire on top. Best case for him and us going forward.

Very well said. Tho chance justin n boldin may go on top as well!!
Like what I see in the highlights of this guy. The way he changes direction but maintains that speed is impressive. And he follows his blockers to daylight. Nice pick.
