I'm pretty sure Eric Mangini has some brilliant ideas! He worked with our offense all of last year and this whole off season. He knows our players and he knows our offense. Being a defensive minded coach, he also know how to ATTACK Defenses

I think that is the point we are all trying to make. Everyone is to blame but how many more times do we have to watch the same old sh*t play out in front of us. How many games should never even be close yet it comes down to the 4th quarter. How many times are we gonna do exactly what the defense wants us to do.

How many times have we been blown out? How many times have we had a losing season? How many times have we missed the playoffs? How many times have we lost in the 1st round of the playoffs?

How many more wins did we have last year than losses? How many wins have we had in the playoffs?

You sound like we've been a losing team for years instead of a team that has had 11 plus wins and 3 straight NFCCG's........
Can someone please define what a "poor game" by a coordinator is? For 4 years now, it's constantly CK's fault...poor execution...weak personnel, etc. Seriously, this was a very poor game and execution (i.e. no adjustments) by Harbaugh, Roman and Fangio. Period. No player or coach should be defended or justified after that high school performance during a nationally televised game in our HOME OPENER. Not one! Enough with the justifications.

I'm not saying that to be antagonistic or anything. What I mean is this:
When I watch film I truly do try and be as objective as I can, try and look at all the pieces and try and put together the puzzle of what happened and why it happened. I find the deep analytical side of it strangely therapeutic, especially after a gut wrenching loss. Believe me, I probably felt this loss as bad as any of you. I couldn't hardly speak last night, my wife was worried about me, I didn't sleep all the great, because I kept thinking about the loss. It really does hurt. But, you have to be so careful about trying to bury a coaching staff that has led us to 3 straight NFCCG. We act like this is the Erickson/Nolan/Singletary era. How many fan bases around the league can say they have enjoyed the success that we have over the last 3 years? None. We have had the privilege of watching our team late in January where most fans are only left with hoping for next year.

I'm not saying they're off the hook for this loss but, do you think Seattle's fans are calling for Bevell's head right now?? What measure of success have they achieved so much more than us for their fans to be ok with their loss yesterday?? CK throws a ball 1 foot short........

This is a board to voice optimism or frustrations, after a loss its typically frustration. Ive been saying all along everyone is to blame for last night, but how many times do we see the same stuff play out in front of us. Dallas shouldnt of been close yet it was, last night was the same. Kap played horribly, yet it seems like Roman commits one way or another... we are gonna spread it out this drive and call almost no runs or we are gonna run it this drive and call no passes. Time and time again we see it. It seems there is no incremental game in this offense. We have plays to attack certain aspects of a defense but yet lack the creativity to have plays to attack multiple aspects within one play. Its either attack short with no long option or attack long with no short option. We turtle up with the lead and just run up the middle without even thinking of a play action.

We're the most stacked team in the NFL...have had the personnel to win 3 straight Superbowls now and are even more equipped to win it all this year (personnel-wise). At what point do we start looking at the whole picture and realize there are some serious fundamental and foundation issues here (i.e. philosophy) and just admit that? This is a great team personnel-wise but it's philsophies are not good enough to get us over the hump...in fact, they may even hamper us at times.

I think the frustration is we need to get over the hump. No one wants to be the Bills of the 90s, or Andy Reid's Eagles teams, because no one remembers those teams.

Bill Walsh ALWAYS kept his foot on the gas until at least our 2nd series of the 4TH QUARTER!!! These guys ran a soft zone from midway through the 2nd quarter all the way up until the end!!! And our Offense didn't take advantage of Chicago's personal after Conte and Tillman went down! Walsh would have went 4 WR's and a TE and tested their depth!

dude stick to one conversation, and watch yourself. Ive been a logical voice on this board and just saying what I see on film. Thats what this board is for, Im not a sky is falling chicken little but I am a student of history and to me the same frustrations that many people have had with this offense is continuing this year.
After how many games/seasons....hell YEARS do we have see Roman blow games or keep them way to close because he wants to see how some of his genius plays work during game action. If we are sick of it, the players and ownership have to be.

The "justifications" come because a coaching staff is being called to be fired after years of sustained success. Are they not allowed to have a bad game? Are they not allowed to make mistakes? Are they to blame for everything? Is the solution so easy as to say, "fire Greg Roman" and we dominate the league? We act like championships are entitled, not earned. That the other team isn't fighting for the same thing we are and sometimes they get the better of you. We act like this team is doomed for failure when precedent clearly shows otherwise. We act like the problems in a game are one cause only.

I understand visceral reactions, but sometimes these are way overboard; too extreme and color opinions so much that we blame the nearest and easiest thing.

I say we give Mangini a shot. He's been with our offense for a little over a year now. He has HC in the NFL experience. He also knows how to exploit defenses being that he has a defensive background. Not to mention he has won SUPER BOWLS.
Well, I will bow out of this before it gets too out of hand. Hope everyone has a good Monday.
