GREG ROMAN - A COORDINATOR FOR HIRE

Shop 49ers game tickets
Most interceptions are from poor throws, I thought Kap's were mainly from staring down the intended receiver. He should know better.
Some say we should run more, but I tire from first down runs that get stuffed. Then 2nd or 3rd and 10, all know we have to throw.
The Oline wasn't blocking well for the run game and Kap in 2nd half would one-read then run for his life.

In this game and also in the Dallas game, it feels like we change what is working for us, like we have a larger lead than we have and just try to run the clock off.

Trestman made some great adjustments, we didn't but then again first half went pretty well.

Sorry if I offended you man, that wasn't my intention! But it's really hard to defend a coaching staff when for 3 straight years now they're still making the same mistakes, it's so frustrating. Seeing Bruce Miller lined up at WR pisses me off to no end... Ok sure they're good enough to beat these mediocre teams and have a winning record but after 3 years that doesn't fly anymore, WE WANT A CHAMPIONSHIP and if they don't get it done this year you can bet there's going to be some major changes in the coaching staff in 2015.

Again sorry if I offended you!

Maybe change the title to "issues with the offense" or something rather than firing roman with a ton of !!! to make it less of a chicken little vs nonchicken little type thread. I just wanna talk offense :)

Done. My pitchfork is still out though. This is put up or shut up year!!!!

word to the "put up or shut up"

For those with coaches film can we get some stills from the second half, two things I'd like to see that was hard from the broadcast angle.

1) This needs multiple plays to examine but were our receivers breaking off routes or running short routes to help out the pass rush we couldnt stop? In years past we've seen that this offense has consistently ran longer routes leaving the QB on his own to buy time for a receiver to make his break. Was it the same case last night? from the broadcast it seemed so but it would help with full field shots.

2) In the second half there were a few times where we had trips to one side and Chicago only lined up 1 DB with 1 safety over the top as help making it 3 on 2. Sometimes the LBs were showing blitz to fall back into coverage but I also noticed a couple times Chicago just left it 3 on 2 and basically dared our offense to throw it to the uncovered guy. If that is really the case then that means the rigidity of the offense is insane and could be a big problem as we continue through the season.

When you blow a 17 point lead, coaching has A LOT to do with it. Up 17 the other team is pretty much one dimensional. You obviously know what's about to come at you yet it works??? That's some bs

Let me ask you, would you be able to win in Madden if the opponent knew exactly what play you're calling, and you had no choice but to call those plays?!

40 wins in 3 years including 5 playoff wins. Clearly Roman's offense isnt THAT easy to read.

I think he stinks in the red zone, but yesterdays loss was due to the refs calling penalties like it was a flag football game, and Kap making bad choices with the ball.

Should have been running, but the Bears were playing to stop the run.

Yes 40 wins in 3seasons with the most talented team in all of football with zero Super Bowl victories. Roman is subpar as an OC, or shall I say what he really is the coach for exclusively run plays

This is why I need to back away - You talk about me like I've just been new to the zone. I've been watching the zone and the forums for over 6 years I just waited for several years before creating my profile, I just don't post all that often when I don't have evidence of what I'm talking about.

I understand if you all are upset, but there's not need to call me ignorant or someone who just makes "justifications" or who hasn't seen the "big picture".

I think you are just taking things a little to personal and in return trying to make it personal to others. Keep it to football discussions and not insinuating another posters character and youll be fine.
I'm not trying to insinuate that anyone is attacking me personally or that I was greatly offended(I didn't have the Eli Manning- I'm going to take my ball and go home face). What I was trying to say was that I wanted to get out before it actually did turn personal. I'm not offended - I just know myself and I was starting to get irritated and know that I was about to write some things that are highly sarcastic and uncalled for(that's what I do when I get upset). So, I had to step away for a little bit.

Football football fans are greatly emotional about their team(I know we all know that, I'm just pontificating). I felt that, for me, the conversation was going to start to turn personal and that's not what this place is for, so I simply backed away.

For everything else, I know I sound like a broken record, but, I have to watch the film before I make any more judgements or I truly will be looking at the film in a very biased way and I want to try and preserve the purity of the analysis as much as I can. I know I'll still be biased; but I try and call a duck when it's a duck whenever I can.

Well, I for one am happy to have your opinion

Its clear, that the redzone issues are still there despite all the talent we have at RB, WR, and TE. For the niners to run 3 times at the 7 yard line only to kick a FG...I scratch my head. Not even one attempt.

3 years in and they still can't get plays off on time. You can't blame the quarterback(s) or any single players for that b******t, this has been going on since the day Harbaugh got here and they still haven't figured it out. When you run the play clock all the way down, you give a huge advantage to the defense in timing their first step.

Just a snippet of their burn the clock mentality. Every second the offense has the ball the other team doesn't. They always play scared until they get behind and the game is winding down. What other team starts running out the clock in the second quarter? Last week it worked, obviously this time it didn't. When Harbaugh was hired he said his philosophy was to go for the jugular and put teams away. More of a slap on the wrist with this offensive scheme.
Simple as this. John Harbaugh would have kicked Roman out long ago. Seriously still running read option and in must make downs running the fb out wide. Running the ball 3 times at the 5 yard line during first drive of second half with kaps legs and arm??????WTF. Hardly any 4 wide sets with short passing tree routes to defeat Hthe bears aggresive same play on every down D? O was figured out by the Atlanta game before the superbowl. They melted down letting us come back.We got killed in the sb but for a 45 minute break to regroup.Of course the Ravens could loose momentum and focus. Our head coach is a tough minded guy that brought toughness to our team and much better success. He must be as lost as Roman on how to run an nfl O.no changes have been made. With Kap it's either line up 4 and a slot TE every play or stick to a serious run first O. Roman is all over the place.Always has been.

Yep.Every down for 3 years now their D gets a mini timeout. This is offensive scheme/playcalling incompetence 101. Never have really been able to get any consistant forward downhill rythm/defense on it's heels offense under this head coach. College O in,college O out.Sorry to say. 3 years in, it's a failure

Once the game film is available we'll be able to take a look at that - probably won't be able to til tomorrow though - maybe even later. The game film was available tuesday morning all the time last year, but last week it wasn't available until Wednesday evening.
By those D numbers very consistant.Obviously with a healthy O line HarRoman only know how to run the ball. Insane Rigidity. with that pressure, Bears D would have been cut to shreds with even a mediocre to good short passing tree. Montana/Young REAL west coast O would have killed this with short crosses, hb in the flat and running the sweep. Running well but near last in Passing O means fg.
