This isn't madden, the cost for him is extremely high. Not only do you have to give out a top 10 pick(that is someone who could turn into a corner stone, consider that beckham was picked at 12), but also a 3rd or fourth(That would be the equivalent of giving up on a potential up-and-coming player like witherspoon or Kittle). Also, much of our salary cap flexibility, which we need to sign defo, brown, and tartt and possibly anyone else who might break out next year, not to mention any free agents we might want next year. This is for a player who played only four games last year, and who has major attitude issues. So much so that his team is willing to give up on him, as great as he is.
Beckham is great, but not worth the cost of giving up all of that. Sherman and beckham are two completely different situations. We didn't have to give up draft capital to give him, its a super team friendly deal, and he played well before the injury, plus he has been known to mentor young players. Of course the team would probably love to have beckahm, just not at the cost that is being asked. In closing, stop whining.
PS: Generational talent? LOL Julio Jones > Antonio Brown > Odell Beckham
Exactly, generational talent is thrown around way too often. Joe thomas was generational, AP is generational, Megatron was generational, JJ Watt is generational, P-Willy was generational, Tom Brady is generational. Not ever how or top end player is a generational talent.
You mean the dude who gave up on his career ? Patrick Willis was great, dont get me wrong but generational? Nah... When you only play a total of 7 full seasons... no thanks. Greats are generational because they love the game so much and are so talented they can never leave unless their body gives out. Willis could have rehabbed and got back on the horse.

I think we could have taken him in 2014 but Baalke trades down and took Ward, we also traded out of our 2nd round pick that the Jags used to draft Robinson. Baalke screwed us back then and if we trade for him now shows us how bad he messed us up.
I'm for just using our top picks and drafting our own guys this year.

It's no secret Beckham makes some great catches...he also drops some he should hang on to. More importantly, he's missed a bunch of time on the field. IMHO, he's not worth what the Giants want...at least one 1st rd pick and another high one. Our roster isn't where it needs to be to make a trade for someone like OBJ, it just isn't. Lynch should draft Chark or someone like him, instead. Save the money and draft picks for much better uses. Period.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit I guess. The phrase is generational talent. Pat was definitely generational. Not many 240 linebackers that are that fast while maintaining that level of strength.Originally posted by Stevec9932:Originally posted by philosoraptor:Originally posted by jcs:Save the Generational talent talk for the physical marvels like the Megatrons and Julio's in football.Originally posted by philosoraptor:Originally posted by Aj_hwd954:49ers fans don't want a generational talent that would wreck havoc across the league with Jimmy G & Shanahan, but glady welcomed with open arms a 30 year old douchebag CB who's coming off an achilles tear and has been public enemy # 1 to this franchise.

Other than eating into our cap space and having the media follow around all day - I don't think this guy will make the 49ers better.
Concentrate all efforts on making the defense better.

Since making his debut in his rookie season, he played the rest of that season and two more full seasons, before fracturing his ankle last year. He hasn't "missed a bunch of time on the field".

When you're pointing at someone's hair to say they aren't a good player, you know you've turned a corner somewhere.

I hope he lands with the LA Lambs instead of us imagine him, Suh and Talib on the streets / parties of LA and all the temptations LMAO
Besides, I'd rather watch #AnthonyMiller catch balls for us.
