Bingo! We have a winner!
Prior to this last year, there was a bigtime "no respect, no attention, no coverage, etc" feeling from sports fans in the Seattle area. In many ways, it brought the fans closer to each other because the only media attention we got was from our own local radio. After a while, it almost became a running joke comparing ourselves to Alaska, or Canada, or some other northern territory FAR removed from the masses of typical American publicity. Heck, even now, I think that feeling probably persists - even though clearly, you couldn't rationalize it lately.
So yeah, there may be some truth to the accusation that Seattle fans haven't handled the attention of a Super Bowl winner as humbly as some would prefer. For starters, we're not used to the attention. But with that said, I think some of the fans on this site have also pegged your own fan base well in some respects. I'm not sure some fans in the Niners fan base are all too gracious about being somewhat overshadowed in the division. But I understand that.
One thing we all know is, what comes around goes around. It's only a matter of when.
