Five is greater than one. Their jealousy and insecurity is evident
And it kills them that this will ALWAYS be true, even if they get another one this year its still a lot to a little.

I have been here in the area since the late 90s and I don't agree with that one bit. They didn't give a crap about the Niners until Harbs took over, maybe a few haters after the Sharpie game but when I moved here their fans seemed to actually like the Niners. Trust me, I have been to every Hags/Niners game since 2002 and they pounded the crap out of us, giving little care for the previous success. To them, the Niners were hardly on the radar. They aren't insecure of the Niners, they talk about them all the time now because we have been good and a very difficult game for them.
I don't talk SB smack to them, I did say a few times that at least when we went to the game that the Niners won, but 2012 ended that and 2013 made it even worse. But those guys are obsessed because the Niners are no longer a speed bump to them like they were for most of the dark years. Obsessed yes, insecure? Not a chance.

Being a Niner fan will never suck. At least not since the 70s when I used to cry as a kid because all i knew was losing. They made all of that suffering worth it, long enough to last a lifetime. Any old timer like me knows what I am talking about.

Originally posted by zaghawk:It will always be true. But honestly when you hear it and read it almost daily. It starts losing it's touch. Just like I'm sure all the 42-13, "The Tip" non sense starts meaning nothing to Niner fans after a while. It gets old real fast.
Maybe the best comparison I can make is the Super Model thing. Okay fine, you dated five super models and I'm FINALLY dating my first one. You will always trump me with the 5 > 1. But lets just say at this current moment, I'm still dating the super model (Seahawks as reigning champ until this season ends), and you're in the club still trying to hit on girls and not having an easy time with it or taking home a few fatties or whatever. I am happy at this very moment, and the 5 > 1 statement isn't hurting my feelings because again I'm currently dating the super model while you're not. History does matter, but we all still live in the moment.
Better example, let's just say on Thanksgiving Crab Tree pulled in a game winning catch on Richard Sherman. You bet your ass Niner fans would be all about it and living in pure heaven right now. As hawk fans we could point to that moment not nearly having the same value as when Richard Sherman tipped the INT in the NFCCG that led to the eventual SB win. But the fact is that play is now history, and if the Niners won on Thanksgiving by a play like that, Hawk fans making statements as such would be just seen as a weak way to mask their pain of living in the current moment. This is the same reason why I get irritated with Hawk fans who were screaming 43-8 as some kind of response back to hyped Broncos fans during the Denver game when Manning sent the game into OT. Like at that moment even a SB win of that magnitude something like that even mattered.
TLDR, 5 is greater than 1. But at the moment, it's not hurting our feelings nearly as bad as you'd like. Live in the moment, and worry about that TRAP Raider game coming up. Just as I am worried about the Eagles game.
