Niner fans should stop worrying about Tom Brady somehow eclipsing Montana. That train has left the station. Montana has the best Super Bowl record in NFL history and it will probably never be eclipsed. Four Super Bowls, no losses and no interceptions with a QB rating of 127. Brady isn't within shouting distance of that. I think he's a great QB and I'll root for him because he's a local kid, long-time Niner fan and I really wanted the Niners to draft him.

Pats 31
Seahawks 10
Seattle is lucky to be here, McCarthy took his foot off the gas and gave the Seahawks a late Christmas gift. One thing you can be certain of Belichick will play this game full tilt to the last snap. I'm sure the Pats D can keep Wilson in the pocket and their defensive backs are lights out. A sign that the Seahawks can win will come early, if they can pressure Brady from the start it may be their best chance. The greatest thing about the game for me is that I can take my mind off the 49ers.

So if Brady loses in the Super Bowl he will still end up being better than Montana who never ever lost a super bowl?

Brady won his 3 super bowls as a game manager. Be kind of weird that he loses 3 as an elite QB.

No, as I'm sure you know, he won't be better than Montana.

He's a great QB. He'll be in the Hall of Fame. But those Patriot defenses on the three he won were a heck of a lot better than the ones he lost. Ironically, he was a better QB in the seasons they lost the SB than he was when they won. Just shows the importance of defense.

The Giants pressured Brady with their four down linemen. I don't know if the Seahawks have the personnel to do that as well as the Giants did.

In that game that cost the Pats an undefeated season, Steve Young said the team came out flat. I can't wait to see if the Seahawks try 8 in the box against Brady, if they do they will be out of the formation fast.

I'll be surprised if the Seahawks do that, but you're right. If they do, you have to think the Patriot offense will burn them. But, the addition of Blount is a serious challenge for the Seahawks.
I'm rooting for the patriots but honestly all this talk about how the patriots gonna do this gonna do that.....in reality we won't know until the game happens. I remember last year when almost everyone was saying Denver is gonna do this gonna do that. Even the people here in this forum kept saying how Denver is too much against Seattle and we all know how that turned out.

For all we know the Patriots come out flat and Seattle comes out smoking and win by blowout. We really won't know.

Because you don't understand, or because you disagree?

If it's the later, does that mean you think winning a single game, at about a 50% chance of winning, is more impressive than going through a season and playoff and making it all the way to the Super Bowl?

In other words, do you think Eli Manning (2-0) is a better QB than Peyton Manning (1-2)? If your answer is yes, than I'm baffled, and I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree

"I'm only here so I won't get fined"

But I will say that 4-0 is way more impressive than 3-3. All playoff wins are impressive. I won't argue that. But I look at the Super Bowl as a season in itself. It is the ultimate game that the sport has to measure those who play the game. Losers of the Super Bowl are forgotten. Once you make it to the Super Bowl you have to close it out. It's the one game that once you get there, you have to come through. Of all the QB's, Montana is the only one that I would have complete confidence in to win that game every time. If Montana was in 10 Super Bowls, I believe he would win everyone

A little off topic but :-)

@RobertLusetich: At least #Tiger has a sense of humor after 82. "I'm just doing this so I don't get fined" he said talking to media, echoing #MarshawnLynch

Is the 44 in representation of the great fullback of the 49ers Tom Rathman?
