And one of the most iconic photos of all time will be Jim Harbaugh, on the side lines to support his brother, shaking hands and congratulating his successor, Jimmy T., for winning SB 50, with York and Baalke flanking him (jimmy).

Nope. The larger cap numbers from Kap's extension didn't kick in until 2015. His 2014 cap number was only $3.7 mil.

Kap's contract had nothing to do with not getting Revis. We didn't have the cap space to sign him, and even if we did there is no guarantee Revis would have chosen SF over NE. Given the outcome of this year's SB, looks like Revis made the right choice.

The more I think about, the more I like the way Belichick handled that goal-line stand. Belichick couldn't have predicted that outcome, but he won the game within the game with Carroll. Carroll did make the wrong call, but he was in that position because Belichick refused to respond with BOHICA and burn his timeouts. He put the ticking clock on Carroll's back and hoped he'd at least have enough time for a couple hail mary shots. Carroll got giddy and/or panicked and the rest is history.

Wait, . . . you're not bending over? Most people do in this scenario. Uh, okay then. I guess I am going to kick you once before I bring the haymak---

It went from nightmare to dream scenario in one play.. couldn't get much sweeter. The biggest highlight is not having to listen to seahawks on sports radio & tv all summer.

And hopefully not as many of their seahag related TV commercials either....

Check out this one-read QB

Its actually the corect read and lockett was open. Dude made a sick ass play because he spent extra time in the film room.

It's not a read, it's a play design. That ball was going to Lockett.

Butler just made a fantastic play. He actually says he got beat by the same play in practice. So unlike Allen Iverson, this guy learns from practice.

Steve Young was saying RW, when he saw the flash of color (butler), that he should have immediately targeted Lockette's back shoulder with his throw.

Yea. He should have, but Crabtree put it very eloquently: "oh well"

1) steve Young is right
2) the correct read is Lynch on the left, 1 on 1 vs a LB and Lynch already had him beat

How the hell is the CB not gonna pick it off, when Wussell is staring at Lockett the whole way. As soon as he lets go of the ball he knew it would be picked off.
Lockette was really rag-dolled on that play. The way he got out muscled is comical. How is it that he was the target of the most important pass of the season? He just screams practice squad player.

Lockette is 4 inches taller and 25 lbs heavier than Malcom Butler. Wow.

I said this earlier. The story isn't that they failed to run Lynch, it's how Lockette basically got punked. Any receiver worth a damn makes that catch.

Actually, the story is . . .

@GregABedard: Seattle hadn't lost a gm it led by 10 pts in 4Q since 2004 (49-0). Super Bowl teams were 29-0. & then Brady happened

If the Hawks DEE is able to stop Brady and the Pats in the 4th, that last play never happens. But, sure made for an exciting finish.

Yep, the play call was awful and Lockette should've been more aggressive to the ball, but the bulk of the blame for that loss should go on a D that was touted as one of the best ever and allowed the biggest 4th quarter comeback in SB history.

Cool NFL article that breaks down a number of plays and shows how NE was able to apply their offensive gameplan.

You have to admit though that the Seattle D was a shell of its former self:

No Mebane
No Jeremy Hill

Thomas hurt
Sherman hurt
Chancellor hurt

Lane out early
Avril out early

The wear and tear of three straight seasons of extended play really showed up on Sunday. And I think this contributed to a lot of the missed tackles that allowed the Patriots to get first downs when they needed to on those dink and dunk plays. And that dink and all night really taxxed Seattle's stamina. What was the final TOP numbers?
