It is one game after a very dominating performance the week before. Go back & make adjustments & get ready for Arizona next week.

Mangini is laying it out on a platter for experienced QBs. I'm sorry folks, but top ten QBs will pick us apart if we want get to them.

Got our asses kicked, but it happens. Short week against a very good QB throwing to inarguably the best receiver in the league. It's not the end of the world.
I think how we look next week is going to speak volumes about how the rest of the season. Good teams are resilient and this is the new look Niners first taste of adversity.
If we win next week, well, maybe today was just a bad day. If we go to Arizona and get crushed, then I think it's safe to say that we aren't ready for the playoffs yet.

Our front 7 has too much talent to be relying on complicated blitzes, especially when those blitzes don't get the QB at any point in the game.

We need to find a top tier 3-4 DE quick. The pass rush is not acceptable.

Blitz beater...quick toss it up to the one on one WR. We needed to at least give our DL a chance to rush by taking away the easy toss ups
Hopefully Mangini learned as we face a similar vetran QB

Very true. And the fact that game plan was to come out and stop run instead of focusing on the pass was also stupid. There's no such thing as stopping the run first in the NFL anymore, unless you are basically playing against us or the Seahawks. We should've just been rushing 3 or 4 guys the whole game and dropping into coverage.

I honestly did not get Mangini's game plan. We are going against two of the fasted receivers in the league and a QB who is the best in the league at extending plays and we want to leave our DB's in man coverage back there? We think flashing Reid or Bathea at the line of scrimmage will confuse Big Ben? Our safeties were not able to get back fast enough. It was like a bunch of lay-ups for Ben.

I'm wondering if he needs to be in the booth so he has a better view of what's happening.

I just read the Tomsula transcript from his morning conference call with the media. He said Pit was going max protection most the game which is why we couldn't get pressure. He wasn't happy they were able to play max protection and still have big plays in the passing game. I'm really interested to see Jonny and THL break down the film to see if that was true. Because the pass rush was horrible

mangini had a great game against a mid level (to poor) QB and same for HC. Mangini had a bad game against a top tier HC and top tier qb. It seemed he used the same gameplan for both teams and it worked against the mid level HC and QB and failed against the elite HC and QB. I bet mangini is very aware of that and am curious how he approaches the CArds. Because if he is using the same game plan against the Cards, we lose. I feel confident he will come up with something workable. O wise, we had the exact same problem...using what worked against a non elite team to beat an elite QB and HC. And the poor OL play could not be hidden against an elite team and coach.

I just hope he gets it. Football 101, take away a team's strengths. If a team has fast WR's and loves to throw deep, DO NOT put our safeties playing catch up and our DB's 1-1.
