Where was Armstead? I see he played 24 snaps but doesn't show up on the box score at all. I don't even remember seeing him on the field. Lynch got good pressure but he was the only one.

Yea I don't recall hearing his name called at all but get TJE off the field and let the young guy get some snaps. Really how many times did you hear Dial or Dorsey's name mentioned as well? We need some better players on the d line. I'm really for starting AA over Dial or Dorsey at this point. Not one mention of AA or Dial in this article from Barrows. Overall this is a pretty bad indication of our pass rushing talent.

* Corey Lemonier started at outside linebacker in place of bereaving Ahmad Brooks. However, rookie Eli Harold ended up playing more snaps than Lemonier -- 33 to 29. In fact, Tony Jerod-Eddie had more total snaps than Lemonier, 31, with a number of them coming at outside linebacker instead of his usual defensive tackle/end spot. Of that group, Jerod-Eddie is the only one who ended up on the stat sheet. He had one quarterback hit. None of the three players was credited with a tackle.

* The 49ers did not record a sack against Eli Manning. However, they did get seven quarterback hits. Aaron Lynch was credited with five while Jerod-Eddie and Glenn Dorsey had one each.

We had 16 pressures off the edge. Lynch had 10. So someone was getting some.
MANGINI NEEDS TO GO!
How can u continue to play a soft zone when we have been eaten alive in that defense all year!!!!
Prior to the season, it was predicted by a lot of us that the top tier QB's or veteran QB's will torch this scheme. So far, that is proving to be true.

It's maddening when we, as fans can clearly see it, but the DC is too stubborn to change anything.

It is but that's on the head coach to make an executive decision more than it is on the DC to change his ways.

Problem was Manning's ability to step up or stand flatfooted and make the play. The pressure from the side works much better if there is some pressure up the middle. The question to me is...do you rest Williams once in a while and put Purcell in on passing downs? I'd like the team to at least try it.
Played zone for most of the game....
Why not give Tank a chance to rush from the edge, what can it hurt we are already giving up 400 yards passing a game. Maybe this experiment of moving him inside is just over. He was great very productive at Florida state rushing the passer

I'm watching the NYG final drive, sober this time, and the 49ers are in man coverage - at least for the three Shane Vareen catches.

Which makes it more perplexing at how Vareen was so wide open. You would think the underneath would be covered.

NYG did a good job freeing Vareen up with rub routes. Then on one play Tartt just couldn't keep up. Vareen out of the backfield is like a slot WR, and although Tartt might be an athletic safety, he can't change directions and match 'shiftiness' with Vareen.

Looked very Fangio-esque to me...playing off the LOS and not picking him up until he had a clean catch and running room. Plus he was playing like a man possessed. This is the type of game where they miss Willis...who would likely have helped Bowman a great deal stopping the middle.
Id like to know what was ACKER thinking of when he was trying to hold Beckham???

"Please don't embarrass me!" most likely. He's one of the best WRs in the league already...very difficult to defend without help.
