Just saw a power ranking online that should put the 1-4 record in perspective. They ranked GB, Ariz and Pitt in the top five. So perhaps the niners' losses aren't quite as devastating...or shocking. ESPN's rankings have these teams 2, 6 and 9. ESPN has SF ranked 25th...seems high for a 1-5 team but I guess they considered the opponents...and the Buccanneers are the only team with a better win/loss record ranked below us.

yeah but these teams are all exposing are re occuring weakness in defending the middle of the field

the defense couldnt even defend the Eli- Vereen combo

That was disappointing but Eli is a very good QB when he's on, and he was, and Vareen surprised--he is the 62nd ranked RB by ESPN. NYG wisely put OBJ into the game as largely a decoy after he was banged up. So it was the type of ending that teams learning to gel lose, while more veteran teams don't.

I guess. For a while their #1, #2,#3 WRs were out (Cruz, OBJ and Randle)

and we still were getting smoked.
I've seen mangini called a decent game or the scheme was well feveloped. But if you're calling plays your players can't execute or aren't prepared to execute or simply getting beat in individual battles, isn't this fall back into the lap of the D Coordinator?

If the 49ers start kepping teams below 20 points per game or better then Mangini can get some praise. Until then, he sucks as bad as our D line.

Point taken, but I look at GB and NY as games we gave away instead of being beat by a superior team.

The packers are a superiors team. They are 5-0 for a reason . Giants I understand, but they do lead their division, we hung in their to the very end.

The fact we were in game with top teams makes me believe the 49ers aren't that far from gelling and becoming a good team. Will take consistent QB play, continued growth by the OL and the D.

Yeah, if we play to our talent level, we should win. Can't have costly mistakes, that's the biggest thing.
Whyyyyyy

Are we giving up 10 yards a down now with 8 min left in the game?

Just first downs at will!!!

Horrible defense.
