I'm curious what he's going to do against Seattle. I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of base defense, even when they go 11 personnel ( 3 WR 1 TE ). Meaning we will have our OLB's in coverage again. He even talked about in his presser how well Seattle runs out of 11 personnel sets, which I think means a lot of base D for us unfortunately. If we are going to run a lot of base, I would at least like to see AA in at the LDE spot. He atleast gives some sort of pass rush and we don't sacrifice a ton on run D.
Also this is the game I hope we get to see DJ get some snaps. I want to see him manned up on Graham, he is our tallest DB and he's solid in man coverage. Maybe have Reid braket Graham as well, force someone else to beat us. Tartt could be another option, but I think DJ is clearly better in man coverage.

He's gotta be more aggressive. Send some heat at Wilson. Their oline can't hold up.

I still like NCommand's suggestion of getting wilhoite and Bow out of coverage once they just line up and start throwing it. We have much better personnel to play press /man and NC listed them. Why not? We're not covering and every team throws over 300 yds on us and just destroys us in the middle 1/3 of the field. Change personnel, dammit mangini. Play our cover guys not our run guys. What is so hard about that?
Re: the comment on 12 men on the field....and then does it again....Remind you of anybody?...say, can't get the plays in on time, and we either blew a T.O . or got flagged, or in many cases, both. Jim harbaw? Sound familiar? And now mangini...or is it JT.. can't get their schidt together. IF that happens again, it is proof positive we got the wrong DC ...and probably the wrong HC. Inexcusable. But twice in one game? Never heard of that before. So there's a first for JT. Just as long as it is the last.

Must be another "yes" man who will do anything that is asked of him and why he always has a job. He's not a defensive whiz because there are usually defenders out of position.
From the New York Post-
Eric Mangini isn't exactly rebuilding his coaching resume with the 49ers so far.
While in-over-his-head Jim Tomsula and struggling QB Colin Kaepernick are getting most of the blame after two straight blowout losses, Mangini is due for a massive amount of second-guessing, too.
There already is talk Mangini's scheme is too complicated, especially for a young defense still adjusting to a flood of offseason personnel losses, and he is under pressure to simplify it.

Looking forward to the end of this FO and coaching staff.

I didn't see the appeal of his resume when he got the DC job. He was a rising star as a position coach more than a decade ago and I haven't seen anything impressive from him since.

Did Mangini, even look at film on Seattle? I mean come the f**k on dude, thats f**king Mashawn Lynch back there, and you play the safeties deep? Really, were you looking to give a million yards rushing!
Looking at your "base" concept, you will never generate a pass rush if all 3 down linemen, and the OLB are playing run first, of course they have to play run, because they are the only defenders you have playing run first.
Oh, and you suck!
thanks, now go f**k off!

Defense played decent after the 1st qt. Can't do s**t when the offense can't pick up a 1st.

I get that same exact feeling again as the last couple years (this time on defense)...players playing well INSPITE of stupid scheme and piss poor personnel choices and matchups.

Mangini is the master at making teams one dimensional, once he lets them get up by three scores, he knows they are going to run it, then he has them right where he wants them!
This plan generally works well with Geep's offense, see Geep's only works in garbage time, when teams have backed off and are taking away the deep pass, he then runs the ball, and works all the open pass plays in the middle of the field! These two are match made in football hell!

The constant rotations are not going smoothly. Either the players have to be held accountable (as in benched for a game) or the coach needs to use Fangio's system...fewer subs, if any. Minor injuries have accounted for some...but no excuse this far into the season.

Agree
One guy didn't rotate enough and this guy rotates too much.

I must say, the defense is improving.
