Hopefully depends on personnel but this would be important for me as well...too cast my final vote.

Difficult to see 49ers' logic in hiring Eric Mangini as defensive coordinator

lol, BASportsGuy gets it.

He gets me
I know Mangini isiant a popular hire around here, but i wouldnt call it a bad hire.

If he can co exist with Tomsula, it might be a solid hire when you add guys like Tarver etc.

Lets not forget Fangio was not exactly considered a top flight DC when he came here. He had bottom 5 defenses in points allowed 4 out of how many years he coached prior to the 49ers.

Fangio did a great job here, but he was more than inconsistent prior to SF.

Sometimes things just work. Hopefully JT and Mangenious can make it work.

Good hire

1) He knows the players
2) He has both HC and DC experience

Now with Tomsula, Sparano (who also has head coaching experience), and Mangini...<Insert Godfather theme here>

So what role will Fangio play in all of this? Is Donatell Italian too? LOL

You oughtta change your handle to SusweelsSenselessness. And be sure to pay your royalties to NN for blatant gimmick infringement.

wow didn't expect a personal attack from a hall of famer.

Personal attack ? Umm lol what ?

Maybe you ought to try actually backing up your claims with more detailed posts and support them with factual evidence instead of trolling and waiting around to play the I told you so card.

okay here I'll list them for you

  1. Downgrade in coaching
  2. Justin older or probably retires
  3. Brooks leaving
  4. Pat and Bow coming back from major injuries
  5. Starting CBs are not under contract

-Given we all know Fangio was mediocre before arriving here how is it a downgrade ? Mangini is coming into a talent rich situation and has had time to become more well rounded in the last couple of years by looking at the glass from a new perspective. He also was around Fangio and saw how he succeeded with this D and may have learned a thing or two.

-We all knew about Justin before Vic was even gone.

-Brooks may be on his way out but we also have an emerging replacement in Aaron Lynch.

-Bowman will be coming back from a major injury but should be fully healthy by opening day. And we have Borland as insurance. As for Willis, I did not know his toe injury counted as major ? He'll be fine.

-One starting corner is not under contract...Cully. Brock still is. Cox could still be an option as is Cully. If we lose them oh well, they were good not great and are replaceable. Rather keep one of them but we have Johnson and Ward who will continue to be developed as well as Reaser and Acker who will compete. We will likely add more bodies thru FA and the draft.

You are making a mountain out of a molehill if that sir is your reasoning and logic. Perhaps you should seek out WZ resident relaxation specialist Stoney for some grand advice on how to keep calm and love your 9ers.

This can't be the first time you've noticed him. This is the troll of trolls. No post is longer than two lines and every sarcastic comment is meant to stir people up and has no other value.

Its the WZs version of Tim Kawakami.

But if were gonna rename him how about wussqueals?

Quote: Move over, Levi's. You had your turn, and "COME TO PLAY" is played out. Make room for "YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE." This slogan barely edged out "WE RAISE SUPER BOWL BANNERS" and "WINNING WITH CLASS SINCE JANUARY, 2015."

lmao

Looking at his past, giving up all those points in New England...they refused to run the ball. They scored in lieu of running clock. It put a lot of pressure on the defense and they lived and died by turnovers and sacks having made the opponent one dimensional. Those defenses would not be statistical all stars. As far as the jets, again...hard to hold any one man accountable for an organization.
He appeared on "The Sopranos" once, so he's that going for him...which is nice.

Mangini's one season as a DC (05), the Pats' D ranked 17th. In 04, the Pats' D ranked 2nd. In 06, the Pats' D ranked 2nd.
