2× Pro Bowl (2011, 2012)
First-team All-Pro (2012)
Ranked #96 in the Top 100 Players 2013

.. but instead of acknowledging those accolades you claim it had nothing to do with him but EVERYTHING to do with the team..

Do you see why im just like wtf?

WHATS THE POINT lol
lol there's no excuse...if there isn't a good team around him he wouldn't be able to do that...is that hard to understand...?

we had the best defense in 2011 and 2012. not just the best Free safety.

your living in the past... you cant even handle a question on why he hasn't received those accomplishments after the 9ers

Is it hard for you to understand thats an excuse?
why hasn't DG received those accomplishments in 2013,14 and 15 ?

Maybe because he was 29 just shy of 30? Thats when players tend to regress, especially ones like Goldson who played with a physical nature.

Dont you notice all the players retiring at 30 nowadays?
sounds like an excuse to me

players retiring at 30, actually i haven't. How many retired, 20 ?

Now I know why that dude suggested you get in a debate with taber,

NineFourNiner or w/e his username is said about u and I quote..

"Make something up, then. You are the master of devil's advocate and circular arguments - just take the other side of his positions"

You just like to debate for the f**k of it, I state clear facts.. you just say the team did it and make s**t up... goodbye my friend
facts ? Reid has better stats then DG...do you even understand those facts. Both made the probowl playing in the same position on the same team..there's the damn proof right there. lol

look how you answered my question and you want to talk s**t...lol

ninefourniner is butt hurt cause smith can't do s**t and will always be the weak link on every team

I loved Dashon when he was a 49er. He created a lot of turnovers and he went head to head with Marshawn Lynch ONE ON ONE which he gave up very little ground and I loved the way he stuck his nose mixing it up.......However I hated all those unnessary roughness late hit stuff he would always have called against him. He is a tone setter however!!
Agree

But But But he can hit real hard!! he's soooo much better than Reid even a team that NEEDS a safety in the worst way said see ya later.

You do realize the point of the Reid vs Goldson discussion wasnt regarding who was better today, but who was the better 49er right?

As of now, Reid got ways to go to better than Goldson was on the 49ers buddy, a looong way to go

Lol yeah okay buddy

Eric Reid has avg more tackles, more INTs, less missed tackles, and less PIs per season that's a fact!

Oh god here we go again,

This is honestly my last comment on this debate.

Goldson
2× Pro Bowl (2011, 2012)
First-team All-Pro (2012)
NFC Champion (2012)
Ranked #96 in the Top 100 Players 2013

Reid
Pro Bowl (2013)

I rest my case.

Hey NYNINER85.. look at up^^^^^.. I told u.. Are you sure? Do u like Reid plays better than Goldson?.. No excuse.

Discovered this stat watching first take today, thought it was interesting and relevant to our discussion.

In 2011, only 5 players ever retired prior to the age of 31 in the NFL

Since then, 14 players have retired prior age of 31 (2012-15).

A total of 19 players have retired in NFL history prior to the age of 31, 14 of which have come in the past 3 years.

It's only going to get worse, early retirement is slowly becoming a trend, and I anticipate Goldson's time is coming soon.
Cool. Never realized his final season was with the 2016 Falcons, even if he missed most of the season.
How much of an impact you think he's having? Our secondary seems to be a bit more physical this year.

btw move this to Niner talk. He's a Niner again

IMO, very little. Dashon is probably spending more time cutting up film and laminating play call sheets than coaching up players. Dude is at the infancy stage of being a coach.

Yep, also maybe lifestyle choices to the players.
Be alex smith not the f**knut fullback. Be nate clements not chris culliver.

Would love to see it but until he's like an official assistant coach, I doubt it.

Likely. Pretty cool that he is here however.
