lol any knowledgeable football fan who watched Niner games while he was here knows that he was the most overrated player on the team. 2012 was the only year he was even decent. Poor in coverage, tackled with his shoulder pads, and would always be the one flying in after the whistle with a bone-head late hit penalty.

He was so bad in Tampa that theyre going to release him 2 years into a 5 year deal. He was a -14.4 player in 2013, and a -20.0 player in 2014 in the PFF rankings. In his 6 years as a Niner he was a -13.2 overall.

A FS who cant tackle, and cant cover is generally not going to give you a whole lot of value. Ballhawking and knocking the snot out of WR is great, but there is more to the job than that.

Yes. Get Goldson back with our team again! Please.. Hope he will fix our defense again like in 2011 and 2012.

I will say this, as good as the 49er defense has been in 2014, I gotta say Goldson would really help bigtime bring even more tuffness. Even Bowman sid that the 2014 team "Lacked a Little of the tuffness theyve had in the past"

did you like the lack of drive extending penalties we did not have as compared to the bonehead days of goldson. tuffness does not mean stupidity and in goldson case he can do one thing and that is make a big hit. can not tackle in open field, oh never mind.

To tell you the truth I was actually happy Goldson left, this guy blew too many big assignments down field especially when it matter most....in the Super Bowl. I was more upset that they let Donte Whitner leave, he was is (IMO) a much better in-the-box Safety than what Bethea is.

he just doesn't fit well in today's NFL. He gets fined/suspended alot for big hits. I thought Whitner was better overall.
