This makes the Rams look even more desperate. They just lost a massive amount of draft capital they could've used to build important areas where they're aging and/or faltering right now.

Agreed.

I think they want to sell tickets now for their new stadium, and the GM and coach are in panic mode. If they miss the playoffs or screw their draft future they don't care because they're gone anyway. They're salary cap will be minimal and their Oline and offense is in trouble.

Another way I thought about this trade, even with Ramsey, he can't help them avoid the beating the Rams took from us. He doesn't help them against our matchup, and doesn't help them against the Patriots who set the blueprint exposing Goff. Goff and Gurley appear to be has beens now counting their cash, and Ramsey's trade prevents them from top tier talent over the next few years. If they wanted to salvage Goff they needed to get top tier Olinemen. Now they can't draft or sign them.

The Rams won't face our defense every week. It's not really about beating us but the rest of their schedule

But they have no edge rusher beyond Fowler unless they put Donald at edge every game.

Getting Ramsey pretty much guarantees they lose Fowler and they wont be getting any help on the first round in that department for 2 years.

I don't know, I tend to think the league over values late first round picks. The compensation part I don't see as a problem because aren't they losing both corners? As long as they win and don't end up giving away a top ten pick. Not sure how they're going to pay for it but they must have a plan.

True but they have to beat us and the Seahawks and I don't think 3 teams from the west are making it. Goff has looked bad against decent Ds and he's not the same now that he's been figured out.

I think the Rams first is going to be higher than late 1st...

So someone explain the implications of their salary cap situation should they extend Ramsey, and ours

They'll have like $40 million to spend on like 20-25 players.

They are paying huge contracts to Cooks, Gurley, Goff, Donald, will be paying $13 million to Ramsey and will have to replace most of their OL, add edge rushers and LBs as well as re-sign/extend a bunch of players.

Even a bunch of their fans are confused by the move since OL was the biggest need by far.

Excellent, thanks. Any idea what Ramsey will command when his current agreement expires?

13-15mil minimum

Highest paid CB is 15mil and Ramsey will want to be close if not higher.

LOL . Fantastic news!!!!!!

They got throttled by the 9ers, then proceeded to crapping in their pants to force themselves on rash moves.

First of all, secondary is the least of their worries. Hey, how about fixing that O-line or even adding pass rushers??

2 x 1st and 1 x 4th? The Rams are going to be so stucked now.

Per year is meaningless. Its all about the guaranteed money. He is going to want 40+ million.
Why be scared of Ramsey, we just run the ball lololol

And when we do throw it's spread around. What is shutting down Pettis going to do?

What? Is more than just the 9ers, is the Seahawks too. If you can't beat your division opponents, you are not going anywhere fast.

Plus, even if you discard the division, secondary is not their issue. Is their O-line or may be even pass rush.
