Just crazy to me how much of an improvement his game has taken, all the he almost have become he did, continuously too, so many gave up on him, including myself, but what scares me is bc of his huge leap I think the niners will expect the same from Solly.

I don't lol. If we do, great.
It's been said before, but isn't it amazing when you have the young , bull-like talent, but it just doesn't work well. Suddenly we get a great DLcoach and bam!. Arik goes from "almost getting there " to becoming a huge force to reckon with, and when next to Nick, Buck, and Dee...Arik suddenly makes that 4-some the best 4 in the business.

What a difference a really great coach makes. Thank you Coach Kocurek, Of course, we have to thank kyle and john for bringing him in, too. Thanks KS/JL.

I had no idea that Calais was still playing at a high level
PAY DA MAN
For the Arik doubters out there, here''s a well known fact that many seem to somehow ignore. Arik isn't just a DT...the guy plays DE and he does so quite well. Bosa lines up sometimes at the 3 tech, but you seem him out there at wide 9 also. Armstead does the same thing. Think about it. Just how many DTs in the league can line up inside or outside and play both well. ? Right, there aren't many. To have TWO of them on the same team seems outrageous.

I have been an Armstead supporter for 4 yrs before this one. Not that i thot he was so spectacular, but it was the "promise". As a virtually untutored DT, he would consistently break thru the OL and then....well, nothing. It was like he didn't know what to do. And he had done that with regularity the previous two yrs, which brings us right up to the point where we KNOW we had talent, but just still way too raw. Enter Kocurek, and virtually immediately we see the finished Arik.

Beginning this yr, despite his usual doubles, he busts thru the OL and now...he is on the hunter/killer mode for finding QBs...or tackling RBs in the backfield. Arik is playing as well as he has before, but NOW...now he gets the job finished. That was the one frustrating thing the previous 4 yrs, and many have said it....he just couldn't finish. Any real football fan seeing the Arik metamorphosis would have had to wonder, "why on earth is he not getting coached on what to do once he busts thru the OL?" Well, Coach Kocurek answered that one for us. And now we have a DT who can move over outside and not lose a step, that is one of the top 4 DTs in the NFL. Stats prove that but give it the eyeball test and it is readily apparent.

Yr 5 is about to come to a close and when it does, talk about seeing what we can get for Arik in trade is just silly , at least to me. When you have a Bosa, an Arrmstead you don't sit around thinking how much they are worth in a trade scenario. You go full bore ahead and sign them long term. We also have Dee when healthy and DJ/Blair/ Damamtre, Julian, et al. We have right now, altho some are on IR, the dream DL that most teams, including us before, could only wish for. We got those guys now. So now we figure on how to keep them,..and add some new blood in either FA or draft..

This business of even thinking of trading Arik is just goofy. The last 4 yrs i waited for this guy with all he bull strength and potential talent to fulfill his destiny. And no surprise, Kocurek comes here and Arik performs like an all pro. Then you wonder , why were those other pretender HCs we had here, not getting Arik coached up? I held on thru this yr hoping that just great coaching would bring Arik's talents to the forefront. And...sure enough, it happened. So please, let's put the trade Arik away for good and let him be the all pro talent he really is. Funny, strange how he just needed coaching. Give lots of credit to both kyle and john for taking care of that.

That is about one step up from sports radio hosts having inside sources.

Fine post.

IMO, he isn't going anywhere but here.
He's been quiet the last few games. Strip sack -- let's go !!!

So a first rounder for him?
If armsdud wants to get paid he needs to show out in the playoffs.
