AA was regarded as raw coming out of college. He was more of a 3-4 DE that 2 gapped. He didn't know how to rush the passer much.

The tools were all there though. He never really got to develop because of injuries. Yes having talent around you helps. You can also say the other guys benefit from AA just as much.

IMO I think he's finally has the right coaching and scheme. Without question he needs to be resigned.

Pressures are just as good. But nearly all teams have shifted to quick screens, quick passing and/or rollouts. Moreover, we played far more mobile QBs in the 2nd half of the season than the 1st.

Armstead's pressure forces QBs out of the pocket. But without Ford they just roll out.

I feel like he's a bit over-hyped now though. He's a good run stopper, but come on...him on his own is not going to get pressures on the QB. His sacks are feeding off the other good pass rushers on our team.

Dude is getting doubled a ton and still having success. For sure Buck/Bosa (who are getting doubled a lot as well) help. Losing Ford/Blair/Moore really hurt the whole pass rush in regards to finishing. Teams have adapted (getting them to move around short passes) plus like okdkid said we've played against more mobile QBs 2nd half of the yr.

AA is gonna get paid and should, I just hope it's SF paying him.

I bet AA gets the franchise tag so they can evaluate him one more year. Assuming they extend Buckner.

People are so nervous about a LTD for Armstead. I get it.

But literally every major contract done by the Niners in the last five years has had an easy out. Garoppolo, Ford, Sherman, Alexander, etc.

They all allow the Niners to move on easily if production isn't there. I don't know why that would be any different with Armstead. The Niners will be protected as they ALWAYS are.

Big cats future wife just got a job as a psychologist in Sacramento hospital. I'm tell ya this is his home and he loves the area. He's from here.

He's not gonna play for peanuts but staying here will factor into it big time imo.
