Just came out but sounds like they are going to be moving on from Arik. 2 high a price

These reports come out about various players on teams this time of year and prove incorrect. There are plenty of ways the niners can open up cap space this off-season. I've read people way smarter than me on the cap outline ways that we can keep Armstead, as well as pay Kittle and Buckner. We'll see in about a month and a half. I think he stays.
They probably don' t want 4 huge deals along the line. (Ford, Bosa, buckner. )

Bosa will be playing for peanuts for awhile. In the next couple of years there will be other decisions made as other developing stars start coming up for deals but for now I can almost promise you the team is going to do everything in their power to keep Armstead.

Dude is too important. He plays outside and inside and can get pressure from both. He is the young Michael Bennett version they thought they were getting with Solomon. You don't let stud pass rushers with that kind of versatility walk out of the door. I'm confident they will work something out.

Lynch has spoken multiple times about how one of his and Kyle's first visions was to build a super bowl caliber line. Their not letting this thing break up just yet.

Franchise and keep him or trade. No reason to let him walk for a lame late 3rd round comp pick at best.

Ready to trade armstead for 2 2's or a 1

That is not how being a free agent works

Yes it does

We would have to sign him and trade him or get a comp pick. You don't get to trade him when he's not under contract.

A late 3rd NEXT year.

Lol that's a hard pass. Pay the man.
This would be incredibly foolish to let Armstead walk.
We can get 4.5 mil by cutting Jerrick. We can get another 3.5 mil by cutting Goodwin.

For all you Jimmy and Sherman haters after last night we can get 22 mil by cutting Jimmy and almost 13 mil by cutting Sherm...

On a serious note just cutting Jerrick and Goodwin gets us another 8 mil in cap space. We are expected to roll 12 mil and have 21 mil in space without any other moves. So now your 29 mil with McKinnon and Goodwin. From what I understand there are several contracts that can be redone for cap space. I could see Tartt's deal reworked. Just straight cutting him gives almost 5 mil.

This team's championship window is wide open and some fans trying to make poverty FA decisions.

Imagine trying to moneyball an elite DL group in the middle of a Super Bowl window.

This ain't 2015 bros. Team is stacked. Keep it that way.
From the stats I saw,Arik had a great season with 10 sacks this year, the previous 4 seasons he had 9 total, ( underachieving it seems ). That he was playing for a new and better contract this season was a motivator. .the question is he worth the big $$ and will he perform to that expectation long term ?

Of course he is.

And lets not pretend like Paraag doesn't protect the team on these deals.

Dude was reportedly the star of camp his second season then got hurt. Continued to play hurt until they put him on IR. Dude missed 18 games between year 2 and 3. Id say last year was him finally being healthy (great run defender last year) and this year things finally clicked fully for him. It's tough on young players to miss that many games in the most crucial years of their development.

Extend him. He deserves it.

This No way I'd give this guy a long term deal Franchise tag
