You guys realize that the new CBA will potentially add tens of millions to the 2021 cap, right?

Potentially??? Sure it will go up but how much is anyone's guess. I still have a problem paying a player big $$ who was only great on his "contract year"

They are also wanting roster sizes to go up to 60 which would cost more money.

Good point!

That roster size increase won't be filled with dudes make $20M. It will be with UDFAs.

Yep, and we wouldn't lose guys like Kaden Smith going forward. Lynch and crew pick up so many great late round picks that this would be a big plus for us.

We won't be able to keep him. Doubtful. Cap isn't going up very much this coming year. Have plenty of depth to fill in there. Arik has a great chance to score a good contract, he needs to go for it.

The niners are aware of his value. They will have an estimated 21 million in cap space. That's before any releases or restructures. He is too important to the dline because of his versatility. You don't let young stud pass rushers go in this league...you just don't. The team will be able to keep him.

We also have one of the best contract negotiators in the NFL and cap managers. There will be money for Arik, as well as Buck and Kittle.

If AA leaves it won't be the end of the world. We have depth along the line and if Blair comes back along with DJ we will be fine. Remember this was the first really good year he's had. He was okay the last part of last season but before that he was considered somewhat of a bust. We don't know if he will continue to play like this season or revert back to his old self.

Sure saw his old self in the superbowl, was constantly giving away the edge to mahomes

We can afford him if Jet takes a paycut, and we can unload either/both Goodwin and Solly.
who is jet?

As much as some wouldn't like it, I would keep Solomon Thomas for this one last year. He seemed to flash more frequently late in the year, and I would like to see if he can pull an AA and finally put it all together next year. Obviously, we need to bring in (and bring back) more competition, but I am not quite ready to offload him yet.
I have this sick feeling in my stomach that he will be a Las Vegas Raider next season

He's going to be a Cardinal or Seahawk. Both have needs. And he is reported to be FA1 for the Cardinals.

I could see this. Both would keep him marginally close to Sacramento.
I like the idea of tagging and trading AA for a 2nd.

Aka...the Dee Ford scenario.
Is AA a product of scheme or did he really come on this last year?

He was crushing double teams all year. He's a bonafide star.
any AA clones out there in the next draft?

There has to be.

AA was a projected high second rounder. Tall , not as strong. Decent speed. Scouted as being a pro bowler after around 3-5 years in the league.

If we can't re-sign him, that's the way to go, in my opinion.

We don't have 4 years. We are in the championship window now.

one thing Kyle did right was sign alot of depth. MFrs were getting injured all year.

With all the BIG money we already have to spend soon (Kittle and Buck)...I just don't know how we do it with AA.
