I love Arik, and I'm so glad he's finally blossomed into the player we all hoped for, but I think we're going to have some hard choices to make when we tag him and then teams come calling offering a trade. I think we end up trading him for a 2nd this year, and a 1st next year to the Bucs.

Clarification. Armstead says he is okay with the tag.

This guy wants to be back here. There's no reason why this shouldn't get done—even if only for a year. I have a strong feeling that Sanders will be the odd man out among our high-end free agents.

I think we could move on from our veteran talent, Sherm, Ford, Sanders, Goodwin, McKinnon and focus on retaining our younger talent, Armstead, Kittle, DeFo, Breida, Day

This is a surefire plan to be a good team, but not a dominant one. We saw how this line looked without Ford. Sherman's contract is guaranteed next season. And I'd still do another deal with him, short term. Depending on how he looks next year, that number may come down. We'll really know where he stands in the world of DBs if teams attempt to go after him more. I say we do everything possible to keep the defense together and Sanders on offense for 2 years. Let them have a shot to return. Move down in the draft and bring in a slew of rookies that will be ready to replace our departing veterans by 2022.

Not a fan. I still don't trust this offense without him. Too much lost draft capital to not give it a shot. I think Deebo had a fantastic receiver, but he'd have far too much attention on him without another receiver on the opposite side. We can get this done.

Haha. Wow.
Ok, that's it. Don't care if we blow our cap for the next ten years - sign that man for life.

Word out of Kansas City is the Chiefs cannot afford to resign Chris Jones. If Jones does get to the market price for DI linemen. That will have an impact on what AA will seek, if he wants to break the bank.
Of course, the Chiefs will try to do a tag-and-trade deal like they did with Ford, but even that will set a mark.

This is why a Chiefs dynasty (or any dynasty) is so hard to achieve. QB favouritism aside, Mahomes was not the best Chief on the field, Jones was and he's going to walk.
They can't afford him because Mahomes has a mega contract coming up and Watkins is due 20 odd mil next year, just for starters.
