Kittle is going to demand top dollar at his position when he becomes a FA. There's always the FT though

He is but top dollar at tight end is fairly cheap comparable to other positions. Kelce got 5 years 46. That was a few years ago and with the new cba coming Kittle will shatter that but all things considered he won't be that expensive.

Kittle will get $16 mil per which isn't "cheap". We basically have a smaller window due to not having success until year 3

This couldn't be further from the truth.

Our window is open now, in an extended fashion, *because* we hit on Kittle...despite several high profile misses.

Moreover, the new CBA and resulting TV deals will explode the salary cap upwards. We are looking at a $250M salary cap in the next couple years.

Kittle's deal will be quickly outpaced by lesser TEs within the next year.

I'd be shocked if he gets WR money like that. That would be massive given the current #1 TE is paid at $10M. Highly doubt that. But like Donald breaking the market, it's possible.

Probably closer to an APY of 12 IMO.

Sure each team will be allotted more $$ but it doesn't mean the current cap situation won't carry over. No GM in the league would agree to a complete "reset" on cap numbers 😂

I'd say the bigger issue is Kittle agent knows the cap is going to explode so we may be late to the party on getting him dirt cheap compared to a few years from now. Mahomes's camp is rumored to be asking for 40 mil right now. Still He's only going to get paid as the top tight end if That's 13 mil per so be it. He's worth it.

The point is that whatever Kittle agrees to know...his deal will be quickly outpaced by other TEs and WRs. By the end of his new deal it will be a bargain. That would not be true if he was seeking an extension in 2021.

It absolutely will not carry over. That is the point of a long term CBA. *This* year may stay at $200M. Beyond that...the cap will be exponentially increased year over year.

Contracts are always like that but just where I disagree. His agent is smart enough to know what you laid out and like with Mahomes will probably already be asking for that jump in pay.
One of the worst things that ever happened in sports was when they started publishing the player salaries. There was a time when nobody knew what the other guy was making unless he told you. Now everyone knows and it's become a status symbol. A way to judge your value against every other player. This guy made this much and I'm better than him so I should make that much. It does nothing but explode the salaries and with it, the cost of tickets and cable TV costs. Players don't honor their contracts and hold out if they can't get renegotiated. This will eventually kill sports because it's already becoming too expensive to take your family to events so younger fans don't get a chance to be exposed to the games. No wonder so many have their eyes glued to electronic devices.

Likely a 5 year, $65 million deal with $30+ guaranteed.

Any type of success in year one or two would have prevented us from being able to draft Bosa, sign Dee Ford, and trade for Jimmy.

Not sure you understand WHY the window opened at all lol

That's exactly what I have.
