That would be awful. We are worse off with that move, both long term and short.
I mean if signing him LT isn't an option, tagging and trading him is the 2nd best option IMO.
There's a huge cap risk if no takers though.
3rd would be to let him walk, pay all our own FA's and get a 3rd round comp next year for AA walking. Sign Joe Thuney.
Not to mention he'll probably get the DE franchise tag versus the DT tag price
