Thank you....By the time next year comes around we might not have to keep Ford and that'll free up a ton of Space. People seem to forget even though we are up against the cap and signing Armstead to a long-term deal doesn't seem wise, we do have veterans coming off the books in the next two years like Joe Staley Richard Sherman and Ford that's a ton of money so I think we're good.

So who replaces Sherman, Staley, Ford?

The chances of hitting the playing equivalent in the draft over the next two seasons is not in our favour and it won't be cheap to replace them.

Why would we let Sanders walk?

Why would we let Sanders walk?

He's going to test FA - I'd rather go with Goodwin and let Sanders go.

Sanders is slow - I'd rather keep the faster Goodwin. Plus, Goodwin isn't dealing with family matters anymore - he will concentrate on football.

I want to keep Sanders. I want to keep Goodwin unless we draft someone better. Kyle's already put a "FOR SALE" sign around Goodwin's neck, though, so keeping him seems unlikely.

If we think we can can tag him and trade him for a first, we'd be crazy not to do that.

1. We Need the draft pick.

2. The cap has come home to roost, and we must make choices.

3. Restructuring the team comes home to roost too.

4. Arik had 9 sacs from 2015 through 2018, which is 2.25 per year.

5. There is a long history in the league where a player way over plays himself in a contract year, and then returns to form.

6. It is smart and the natural order of top teams in a cap environment to selectively replace talent with cheaper players on rookie contracts.

7. Assuming you are giving up AA's 2019 stats is imo not justified and unlikely.

8. The draft is rich in WR's and DB's, and a star there could be worth more to winning than AA.

9. We are getting back several solid DL players off IR this year.

10. To win Super Bowls, you have to keep yourself strong long term and get multiple bites at the apple, and nothing matters except winning Super Bowls,

11. We have no draft picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds.

12 We have several people we need to pay that really have earned it over multiple years.

13. You are risking seriously overpaying for a player who plays to his first round level one year out of five, and with league leading talent around him that year.

14. We need to keep cycling in young players whose talent exceeds the rookie pay scale to stay on top.

15 If we trade him, we have a say in where he goes.

16. We need the draft pick.

FYI, we don't have a say in where AA goes as a franchised player, he's not technically signed, so we can't just trade him to wherever we want to, he needs to agree to going there.

That's what you object to? First of all, it's a small point, and secondly, it's true.

I said A say, not total control. AA would likely need to come to terms for a team to pay much compensation , but that can be done prior to July 1st. But we can turn down any offer, which we'd likely do if it were say Sesttle or perhaps any division team.

That's crazy talk .I believe Sanders and Goodwin will both be here next season though. Hopefully we see the 2017 version of Goodwin.

Isn't this guy the same one who said Bosa would be a bust?

They really have no idea how valuable AA is to this team. Ward and Sanders "more important" lmao what an idiot.

That is what I noticed the most or first I should say. AA has the total and complete say, he can say he wants to go to team A, we say no, he plays on the tag. You wrote it as if we dictate where AA goes.

Goodwin is too expensive for what he lacks to bring, I think Sanders is back, plus Deebo, Bourne, Pettis, Hurd(IR/DFR), Taylor and James are likely IMO.

I think Sherman will be here once his deal is up. Ford is the one that I do not see past 2021. With Staley, it all depends. I think if we won the Super Bowl, he may have considered calling it a career. Winning a Super Bowl next year may have a few vets considering calling it a career (Sanders if we resign him, Sherman, Staley), and if they didn't, I'd actually be more comfortable with letting them walk once the deals expired, so we could at least net some comp picks. I wouldn't expect that level of talent to be replaced, but it would provided cap relief for the immediate future and set us up to reload for the future.
So is free agency a go? Could AA start listing to other offers? Can anyone be signed at any point now?
