TBH i'm not thrilled by it.

With guys we definitely want to pay soon, paying armstead is only making that difficult.

Then in a few years Bosa is going to want a fat contract after we already need to pay Kittle and Buckner.

I like armstead, i just feel like the contract is going to be too much.

Kittle and Buckner are going to get locked up. If we're talking deal with Armstead, it means Paraag has found a way to sign all 3.

Yeah Kittle and DeFo, who counts $14.36M already, will get their deals this offseason, no rush to them.

We won't lose guys in the future if the cap does rise $40M a year like the report states.

awesome to see you posting again!!

I hope you all are right.
Only want a long term deal if it's one of those Paraag team friendly deals.....Not interested in a lot of guaranteed money for Armstead.
If Paraag think 49ers can pay Armstead and still be reasonably good under the cap...let's go!

We'll get him signed, too.

i really think its risky giving AA fat contract after just 1 year of production. hes a great candidate for the tag to see if he can really do what he did this season. every seasons hes been hurt or unreliable up until when we actually are good and contend, then all the sudden he breaks out. idk thats real suspicious. too early to give him a big contract unless its super incentivized.

He was good in 2018 too, people just weren't paying attention. He took a big step that season and took a bigger one this season but he's getting improving steadily for a few years now.

I remember when FA started in the early nineties Carmen policy locked up Harris Barton and Steve Wallace to the exact deal. It was a multi year deal for the same price bonus and guarantees. Everything. Wish AA and Buck would give a little hometown discount and sign the exact same deal. How about they sign for 5 year 80 million, 40 guaranteed. Is it possible? Also, Trade or release Solly. If not this year then next. Thoughts

This is true. He was pretty young coming out (21) and the consensus was he was a project. Needed time to develop and dealt with injuries early. 2018 and 2019, basically injury-free (started all 32 games). Was one of the best in 2018 against the run and then, with the scheme change and the additions of Bosa and Ford took another step forward in 2019. He's only 26. If we can keep him, no reason to believe he won't be a huge part of our success moving forward.

They need to get something done before the 12th - that's the last day to designate a franchise/transition tag.
