TBH i'm not thrilled by it.

With guys we definitely want to pay soon, paying armstead is only making that difficult.

Then in a few years Bosa is going to want a fat contract after we already need to pay Kittle and Buckner.

I like armstead, i just feel like the contract is going to be too much.

Kittle and Buckner are going to get locked up. If we're talking deal with Armstead, it means Paraag has found a way to sign all 3.

Yeah Kittle and DeFo, who counts $14.36M already, will get their deals this offseason, no rush to them.

We won't lose guys in the future if the cap does rise $40M a year like the report states.

awesome to see you posting again!!

I hope you all are right.

AB is the GOAT what you mean

This. He was regarded as pretty raw coming out of Oregon. Kid battled some injuries early and has finally developed into the guy we wanted when SF took him 17th overall.

Why in the world would people want to move on from a young player who's just starting to get into his prime

Plus every training camp he's wrecking everybody and beat writers would comment that he is the best player on defense. I'm sure it's bosa now but this guy is going to be very good if not great. Injuries derailed his first few years and last year was his only healthy year I believe.
Sign AA and Sanders and I'll be a happy man
AA was impressive as hell this season. This was my favorite AA pass rush snap from the entire season. AA at left end smokes the right tackle with a well-timed jab-double swipe(hmm, I wonder who helped him with this move? ). That's a 6-8, 300 lbs man reducing his surface area and turning the corner. He got better--a lot better.

That was a legit ER move outside the T. That's insanely special for a guy his height and weight.

Good to hear. Lynch knows he can't talk about us getting better and then let AA walk out the door.
I wouldn't be surprised if the deal is team friendly, especially since the Niners never gave up on him. It'll prolly be identical too the Trey Flowers deal 5yr $90 Mill. 1st year being only a $6Mill cap hit, but then jumping up too $16 mill the following year.

i really think its risky giving AA fat contract after just 1 year of production. hes a great candidate for the tag to see if he can really do what he did this season. every seasons hes been hurt or unreliable up until when we actually are good and contend, then all the sudden he breaks out. idk thats real suspicious. too early to give him a big contract unless its super incentivized.

This is true. He was pretty young coming out (21) and the consensus was he was a project. Needed time to develop and dealt with injuries early. 2018 and 2019, basically injury-free (started all 32 games). Was one of the best in 2018 against the run and then, with the scheme change and the additions of Bosa and Ford took another step forward in 2019. He's only 26. If we can keep him, no reason to believe he won't be a huge part of our success moving forward.

i believe it. i remember in 2018 he was real strong and great stopping the run an strong holding the line. we just needed him to start creating pressure which he did in 2019. definetely benefitted from the addition of ford an bosa around him this year. i definitely dont want him to get away i just think with his situation and what teams can use the franchise tag for, hes the perfect candidate at the perfect time for it. lets see if he can continue this performance without having to commit years to him when we know our cap is gonna get tighter year by year now. or at least get him on a deal that protects us with incentives.

i guess if it aint him our other great franchise tag candidate would be jimmy ward. if we dont use it on armstead we should use it on him.

I can dig it.
i think we need sign one of the top FA CBs or Guards and then draft the other position first in the draft. thats all we need at this point. hopefully if they make a deal with AA it gives us the money to do that.

Learn that from Bosa

There are no top FA guards outside of Thuney and he's gonna cost like $13M+ a yr Shanny ain't spending that on a guard.

Only CB I cant realistically see them looking at is Roby (because they were last yr) and he's probably not even an upgrade to Mosley.

FA is where you overspend for guys that their current team wasn't willing to resign. Doesn't expect much action there this yr.
