Maybe DJ Jones and Ford can play full time now.

OBJ is cancer

AA has said he wants to come back, he's from here and has done a lot in his community.

I'm gonna bet he isn't gonna want peanuts either.

IMO OBJ isn't a cancer. I've never heard anything about him being bad in the locker room and he really hasn't had any issues off the field.

He's a bit of a diva WR (like a lot of WRs). My only issue with OBJ is health.

I would take OBJ on this team with open arms, I dont understand or the proof where hes a cancer. A cancer is AB, team mates of OBJ never complain about him and his main issue like many is being on a crap team, losing and it doesnt help when youre losing and not putting up the #'s youre used to. OBJ, Deebo, Kittle, a rookie and with guys coming back and hopefully improving no way we dont average at least 30

We can only "remove the tag" if he hasn't signed it. Once he signs it, he has us obligated to $19m, unless we trade him by July 15, and that won't happen unless he agrees to terms with the new team, and they've got to beat $19m? Good luck. It can happen with a long term contract, but the bottom line is, if we tag him, he's got us by the b@lls.

If the question is who would you rather have between OBJ and Armstead. The answer is unequivocally Armstead. There is no comparison. He would have a disproportionate impact on the game. Top DL are more valuable than top WRs -- and it's not particularly close.

Again, the lack of respect our posters have for Armstead is seriously mind boggling to me.

Not quite sure how folks want to keep Dee and trade Arik. Dee is the one who couldn't get on the field..or stay on it. Arik played virtually most of every game. He also plays both inside and out, and plays them well. I'd like to keep Dee, but if so , we need to get yet another starter/backup at Rt DE, and hope we get some meaningful playing time out of Dee. 226 snaps is about a quarter of the total plays. And that just doesn't cut it.

True, when healthy , Dee is hell on wheels coming around the LT. I know he worked hard to get ready for SB, but he played minimally and we finished the game in 2nd half mostly with Solly and Zettle out there, not Dee. So let's get this straight. We got a healthy , virtual all pro in Arik , who plays both DE and DT. Not many of those out there. Dee is the one who is the problem with both knees and hammy. Keeping Dee and trading Arik is so goofy as to not even be considered .

If we do keep Dee, it will then require yet another player to back him up. Arik, OTOH, is locked, loaded , and ready to go.

A trade for Beckham isn't happening regardless. We don't have the picks or the cap flexibility right now.

Because when Dee is on the field we're soooooo much better. He compliments Bosa/ Buckner to perfection. Having that speed rusher to go with the interior pressure is lethal. Just look at how many of AA/ Bosa's sacks came when Dee was on the field.

Very tough one because Dee is aging and injury prone. I want AA back badly but don't discount what Ford brings to the table. Even on the field 25% of the time he was a force for us.

^ This guy gets it.
If AA is tagged or reaches a deal, we'll have officially guaranteed $15.9M + $19.3M [$35.2M] at the LDE position.

Meanwhile, Bosa does both of their jobs every down for $7.6M.

Yup, there is nothing more exciting than seeing Dee whiz around the LT, and chaos plus that leaves Buck, Nick and Arik to join in. No question with Dee in there, we are the #1 DL or front 7 in the league. Operative words are "with Dee in there"...and 226 snaps, or approx 1/4 of the plays, he does all that. But he tried hard to be ready for the SB and just couldn't do it. Therein lies the problem. So secure Arik giving us the golden 3 some. But if we keep Dee, he HAS TO have a backup/starter to replace him, and when we get those 226 snaps we are unbeatable. Unfortunately, that just isn't enough to get us thru a season.. talks about letting Arik go and keeping Dee? Just no way that makes any sense.

What? does this have to do with my post? We cant keep ford and lose arik if ford plays peanuts for snaps.

Is what i am saying.
I am down for trading Ford for a 2nd or 3rd rounder, if it also allows us to resign Armstead+Buckner+Kittle. Then in the draft we need to look heavily into edge rushers.

If that trade allowed us to resign those 3 then, IMO, it'd be worth it.

Add to that a 2nd or 3rd rounder and we're doing well.

Eight of AA's ten sacs came with Dee on the field 25% of the time. The other 75% of the snaps, AA got Two Sacks. I don't want to say "what good is he?", but it ain't $19m in our situation.
