They'd have my attention with #18 but they can kick rocks with #26.

That deal makes zero sense unless Lynch thinks the 2 sides are too far apart on a LTD and he's just trying to grab whatever he can. Losing him to move up a few spots isn't a good trade.

Honestly I'd rather him just play on the tag and then lose him next year while gaining a 3rd round comp. We're supposed to be competing for a title this upcoming season and AA playing for us helps get us closer to that goal.

You are overpaying $5-7m on the tag, that's no way to build strength, and the chances they are far apart are excellent.
I'd be good with Armstead for Miami's #56 and #141.
AA for #5 overall.

We can take one of whoever is left between Simmons, Okudah, Lamb or Jeudy. Then trade back from 31 to gain some additional day 2/3 picks.

Let's say we'll do what we probably will do, and trade down to a top 10 second. The difference from 31 to 26 is a second top 10 pick in the 4th or 3rd round.
And does Miami have any rocks?

So we get to move up 5 spots and gain no extra picks...tell them to kick rocks on that crap trade.

Well, he's a free agent 0900 tomorrow.

Tag him and then go from there

Then we are way overpaying him. Imo, Lynch will not do that, so our only trade leverage is built on the bluff that we will.

No chance that happens.

It's about the cap and how much it hurts signing other players. A longterm contract he perhaps doesn't deserve (comparatively) is what would really hurt.

If he's the 1 player we cant lose that's due to be a FA this year,...then he deserves the money he gets for that 1 year.

Great for us but Miami will never do that. They want one of the QBs. They do have a ton of high picks so they're a likely trading partner.
With 3 first rounders, 2 seconds, a 3rd, a 4th and three 5ths they can make any kind of deal they want. They could easily afford to give up a 2nd (39th overall) and a 5th (154th overall) or swap our 1st for one of theirs (18th overall) and a 3rd or 4th round pick in exchange for AA. I would love that and Miami only moves back from 18 to 31. They could turn around and trade both of those to move back up. It's the type of trade that works for both teams.

Huh? You can't trade a guy that's a FA. They have to tag him before

As Clint Eastwood said to the kid, "We all got it coming, kid". Deserve's got nothing to do with it.

He's 33 and has a cap hit of $17.5M in his last yr of his deal.
