The #49ers decision to pay the kind of money they did for Arik Armstead makes me wonder what the long-term future with the club is for DeForest Buckner. Can they afford to keep both when it comes time for Buckner's next contract? It won't be easy.

I will not be happy with this...

Buckner has been as consistent as you can want in a DLman.

Kittle and Buckner are locks. They will rely on the draft for everywhere else it seems.

Glad we are keeping him but 17 mil a year is a lot for him IMO. I just hope we can still re sign Kittle and Buckner.

We all know jack squat compared to the front office guys and the coaches. Gary Radnich used to say this all the time but it's really true. Who do you think knows more, the guys that do it for a living or the fans. That doesn't mean the team will always make the right choice but they usually make them based on sound logic, team needs and affordability. Fans make them with their heart and that can lead to some bad choices.

We don't know the deets yet. Rap said it was up to 85 mill so might not be 17.

Difficult for me to imagine they didn't have some idea on how they would lock up Buckner and Kittle before they went ahead and locked up Armstead.
