AA's contract expired first, that's how. Have faith in Paraag, he is a cap genius. They will get both Buck and kittle signed! And just because it's been reported 85 mil doesn't mean it's really that, you have to look at the contract details which Paraag is known for.

I just don't see how they could favor AA over Buck. We must keep AA, Buck and Bosa, that's our core.

The DLine is where it all starts.
But Ford has to prove whatever he's having done this offseason really keeps him on the field. Otherwise, he's not a concern anyway.

We don't know the deets yet. Rap said it was up to 85 mill so might not be 17.

We should've gone through this enough to know that NO deal with Paraag is the number that is reported. Also, the idea that they choose Armstead over Buckner is silly. Armstead has a deal NOW because his contract is up. Buckner and Kittle are still under contract for 2020. They have a whole year to negotiate a long term deal. Whereas Armstead was set to become a free agent. This is pretty simple to figure out. Glad they got a longterm deal done for AA. Hoping that the market is cool on Sanders and we can somehow get him for 2-3 years. Good job 49ers.

Ford will likely be gone if he doesn't remain healthy, which frees up more money. Either that, or they do some major restructuring for year 3, which I'm open to as well.

If you think for one second they think that Armstead is better than Buckner, you lost your damn mind.
Resigning Armstead doesn´t mean they don´t want to resign Buck just like trying to get Hooper doesn´t mean they will trade Kittle.
Let them do as they want, I think they know better than us.
Armstead has been actually really good the last two seasons and this year specially he has been awesome.
Trust Paraag on the contract and trust Shanahan´s judgment on the players.
Everyone is losing their mind about giving a big contract to a guy who is just entering his prime that was spectacular last season.
I don´t get it.

I must say the headline of the contract made my eyes pop, but I also must say I've never seen such a big guy who also has arms of inspector gadget wrap up a fast rb trying to take the edge

The thing that really bugs me about football, or other sports with a cap is how the players just go for the max amount of money they can which erodes the team around them. Of course you want security, of course you want to take care of your family but holy s**t how much money does one person need to make. If they just all took a little less so the team can stay together and be competitive long term. If they have to take a little less the kids 4 generations down the road might have to get a job instead of having their own private jet

AA got a big contract...DB will, too. His time will come next year, most likely. The cap will continue to rise, so you have to look at next year differently. Understand they're working toward keeping Ward, too. If they can pull that off, the defense returns pretty much intact. Re-sign Blair and "the band" stays together. There are contracts to be restructured...trades to be made, some players released, etc. to increase the current cap space. Paraag is a magician...one of the best in the business. It's all good.

You need to get out more dude and educate yourself before making comments like that..
You actually answering the question you were asked would be a great start to this education.
(I think you recognize the silliness and will dodge it)
Do you really believe that the moment a guy's contract is set to expire...your investment-made simply rounds off to zero and you see him as any other free agent?
There are TONS of examples of disappointments getting favorable 2nd contracts. Some proved to be good...some were wastes. But it happens.
This is not the way business in any facet works.
In this case... both sides in all likelihood want to give each other a break. The 49ers dont want to lose their good risks, still-young investment (advantage Arik), and Arik doesnt want to uproot from a place he loves and is comfortable with (advantage 49ers).
In the short term, both sides win.
Just wait to see what the oft-injured Jadaveon Clowney commands on the market. Then try to come back here and convince everyone it has nothing to do with his high billing out of college.
Exactly.. draft slot needs dick on your next contract.. it's if you ball out or not.
So your actually jumping around your "draft slot" position..
Comment.
Dude do you even remember what you posted originally and what was replied.
Please keep up and do better.
No need to reply. Don't need you to jump to another random topic you make yourself look even more silly.

The #49ers decision to pay the kind of money they did for Arik Armstead makes me wonder what the long-term future with the club is for DeForest Buckner. Can they afford to keep both when it comes time for Buckner's next contract? It won't be easy.

How can you be so wrong? So often.

We haven't. Buckner will be here, long term.
