$48.5M guaranteed out of $102M is pretty darn low.

Sounds like he's willing to bet on himself. Good.

back to pedestrian stats and injured half the season.

Exactly what I'm afraid of.

You know who never misses games? Buckner

Buck turned down $60M GTD from us so this is a great deal.

That wasn't true fwiw.

He said it wasn't true but man, it sure seems like it now, huh?

Yep.

If we don't bring in a DT via FA don't be shocked if we draft one.

Jones and all the bench guys oft injured will not be enough. Sheldon Day gets pushed around and I doubt we bring back Mitchell.

There's always a truckload of IDT veterans available and with Buckner gone, there will be a heavy rotation at 3T anyhow. Like the LDE position, it'll be split between a run defender and a pass rusher (my guess). Hopefully together, there won't be a big drop off. And at 2i, Jones as the run defender and AA as the pass rusher...Ford to W9 on passing downs.
Linval?
I would have never thought we would have picked AA over Defo but I think its the right one shockingly..
I'm really, really surprised to see him signed. Wow. It's good and I'm glad to have him. The 1 year of production does concern me a little bit. But I am happy to have him and surprised given the current cap situation.

Buckner is the better player by far. He gets the double teams while AA gets 1 on 1 and puts up numbers. I hope we keep both.
Yeah as just hope he can stay and have a deal like Armstead.

Armstead had his share of double teams, not on the level of Buck but he played well. He'll need to step it up even more.
Clearly I was wrong. I think the Dline will probably take a small step back. It should still be pretty damn good with Ford-AA-Jones-Bosa should still be pretty formidable. But think about what Shanahan can do with that 13th pick. There is a lot in play now. I'm not a fan of trading Buckner, but I'd expect a lot more holding on our Dline since referees aren't going to call it. Only way for us to improve is to have a more explosive offense. The offense in 2019 was very efficient- very few three and outs, moved the ball pretty well, and number 2 in scoring. But we need to add the knock out punch from the receiver position if we expect to stay ahead of the pack. I hope what we do in the draft is worth the sacrifice.

I hope you right with small step back. I don't think AA or DJ is ready to be double teamed every play and still make an impact.
