If he's playing beter then he's playing better. Only our fans would act all butt hurt over unexpected success. It's been a long development but wasn't that supposed to be the deal with him.

Playing better where ? Most of the time you even forget he's on the field.

didn't click but the link alone is fkn ridiculous

Smdh pff

I wish there was just one time I entered this thread and there was an article from anywhere else stating how good AA is..and not ones that just reference PFF

not saying there aren't any, but whenever I am in here it is the same site

Yah I dont click on pff they are pretty much a complete joke when it comes to football evaluations.

For reals. I dont understand why people dont just pop up Grant Cohns latest mindbending article for a complete and totally accurate foosball evaluation.

even opposing OLs forget he's there. 2 out of the 3 plays he's made all year happened because they entirely forgot to block him

You mean a 3-4 DE is a good run defender? Nice!

He has had a nice season though. And he's had $9M reasons to play hard every snap. Good for him. He's filled out a lot too this year...getting that man strength.

I'm glad they mentioned his tackling issues. His angles and instincts aren't the best either and if he could tackle better, he'd also have more sacks too.

Overall though, good year to build off of.

I think he will probably always be hampered by slow reflexes and slow recognition of how the play is developing (slow relative to most of the other NFL level players on the field with him). He is also slow at moving laterally until he gets his whole body turned and his legs under him for a couple of steps. I think that's a significant part of the reason he tends to take bad angles.

But it does seem like that experience on the field and probably better conceptual understanding that comes with time has allowed him to compensate better for those limitations than in the past. I do think he has had a tendency to have his attention too focused on the o-lineman he was engaging and not enough attention on finding the ball, but I have gotten the impression that he is getting better lately at finding the ball more quickly.

It's going to be interesting to see what the team and he decide to do this off season.

Really nice post...totally agree.

A good example was this last game where he missed out on a sack...slid inside but a little too lanky to regain his composure and wrap up.
Sheesh.

AA needs to be inside fulltime on passing downs. He is finally healthy and turning into a beast.

But we need to coddle Thomas at the expense of others.

People are always complaining no matter how well he does

I disagree, he still shows a lack of ability to finish when up against a QB with decent movement. I'm happy to rotate it. I think the play above proves that he's got talent though.

Problem here is that people make up their minds on a player and are too stubborn to reassess.
