If he can stay healthy next year and keep up this level of play (and quite frankly, he could even dip a bit) with the salary cap at 190 he'll be WELL WORTH the 9 million on the 5th year option.

That option is probably best for guys like Armstead and Ward, as you get another year of seeing if they've been unlucky with injuries or just can't stay healthy without making a long term commitment. For Ward the answer is obviously that he just can't stay healthy so the team will be moving on, but if Armstead can stay healthy next year and keep this up I think he's worth keeping in the building long-term.

Nice post. I agree 100%

Nope. Hes the devil. Nt told me so. Lol
how many players are we still calling for patience on after five years? good god people
If we let him go on to FA does that mean we get an extra comp 3rd round pick?

But according to PFF the 9ers aren't loaded with great players.

Staley's great. Kittle's great.

Buck, Armstead, and Sherman are above average.

We just only get mention of our players having good games by PFF metrics, and confuse this with thinking that they're overall great players by PFF standards. (e.g. DJ Jones had a very good game by PFF standards so we all heard about it -- but PFF doesn't think he's a great player or anything, as he's only played one game.)

Smdh pff

I wish there was just one time I entered this thread and there was an article from anywhere else stating how good AA is..and not ones that just reference PFF

not saying there aren't any, but whenever I am in here it is the same site

I see him playing in Red & Gold again next year.

PFF tomfoolery. I'm sorry the more I read PFF, the less they are credible to me. A team so loaded with great players that lose so much says the coaching is incompetent. You can't have it both ways. Either PFF is right or Saleh and Shanahans are complete morons who should be fired by misusing so many "great" players.

Not defending pff but we suck at the most important positions. No edge defenders, no qb. Easy to see why we don't win much even if there's talent elsewhere.

If they re-sign players like aa and ward then this team has no hope.

PFF grades "almost made a play" about as high as "made a play." Nobody has "almost made a play" more than AA.

If PFF took their grading system and applied to football in the past, Derek Smith is the greatest LB of all time

PFF nonsense is also the reason many of us were all hyped on thinking Rashads robinson was the future. They kept putting out a bunch of bs stats hyping him up. Tricked the fan base into thinking we had a cb1 for our future.

The year before that, they had Lynch and Armstead as top 10 pass rushers. But our defense sucked. Insane.
