I want the clip of him spinning in a circle and tackling himself when he was 1 on 1 vs Wilson Sunday.

Agree, but they won't be hurting for cap room next year, so you pay him the $9M and see if he's worth a contract extension afterward, but you don't break the bank for him for the next year.
Glad to see him string some solid play together. Compare this to Ward.

He is getting extended. Best player on the defense according to the PFF Gods
Ive yet to have someone answer my question. What player grading service is better than PFF? Id love to know who does it better.
Exactly. People love to discredit them, but having nothing better to compare it to.
Almost every NFL team subscribes to their service, so obviously they think it's pretty accurate.
So do many pro football writers.
I have followed them for three years now (I don't buy the Elite package). I watch the movement of players up and down in their ratings. I find they give a pretty good idea of how a player is doing in different aspects of their position. At worst, the fact they grade all players in the same position in the same way, it gives you a good relative ranking of the players.

His contract is in line with what other DL in his position are getting relative to their play.

In context he will also be the highest paid DLineman on this team next year for a rotational player. Cutting him costs us nothing in terms of cap hit and gives us a chance to renegotiate at a much lower number.

I expect him to resign for a slightly lower number - something in the $6-7M range.

Which frees up the team's resources for other stuff.

I've seen PFF ads on my twitter feed asking "Do you want to come work for PFF?". Why are they asking Joe Schmo to come work for them? I know a little about football, but if they ever hired me that would make them lose credibility.
The NFL plays an unbalanced schedule. If Mike McG scores a 70 against Von Miller, that to me is better than him scoring a 90 against Eli Harold. PFF still cannot capture that, and that's the biggest problem I have with their player scores. There is no aspect of 'quality of competition'.
"Well what else is better?" That's not a strong argument. If I gave you a turd sandwich and that was all you had to eat, should you complain, or should you eat the sandwich because it's better than nothing since you don't want to starve? PFF is that turd sandwich. The buns are the concrete stats, the turd patty is the player rating scores. Throw away the patty and eat the buns.

I'd give Earl Mitchell a rating of about tree fitty
