AA is an enigma to me. I keep hearing he's good at stopping the run, but is he 9 million dollars good? Moreover, where does he fit in the system if we have Ford and Bosa? Could he play inside? I think Thomas is more suited for that role. My guess is assuming we get Bosa, he's an insurance plan just incase anyone gets hurt. Its kind of like Ward.

So if we draft Bosa, wouldn't it make more sense to put Solomon Thomas at BE, thus making AA a back up? If so, perhaps it will be like what we did last year when we drafted McGlinchey. We drafted McGlinchey, and then traded Brown during the draft.

1- we have cap space
2- good against the run, need to stop the run to set up for others where they can pin there ears back.
3- Always good to rotate people- I like the idea of Buckner and Armstead in the middle with Bosa and Ford on the outside every once in a rush, cause QBs like Wilson and if the cards take Murray, have to throw over a pair of Forrest Trees.
Hopefully the new DL gets more out of all of them, especially at stripping the ball-don't have to worry about Ford-he got that part of the game down. Maybe with a new coach and a contract year-he'll ball out. He still is young. People forget, he was a 17th round pick, not a top ten and he is only 25. Dee Ford was 25 when he got 10 sacks.

AA at the 1T?
People seem to understimate how good healthy Arik Armstead is #49ers pic.twitter.com/oxWWyRS3Wl

I think that's just his 5th year option. So, it's more of a "let's see for one more year" payment. The alternative is a new contract, which they might not be ready for.

If he could start there, that would be great, but that isn't likely.

Man the AA & ST threads stay lit lol.
Hypothetical question, let's say we could only have one of these young DTs break out in 2019, AA or ST & the other would be a complete flop. Who are you guys rooting for to break out?
Personally, I've always wanted AA & Buck to be a force together inside considering their oddly tall builds & that they played together at Oregon. Really I'm just hoping one of them becomes a stud, that could really help our DL.

ST breaking out would benefit us more since hes still on his rookie deal....
AA breaking out wouldn't help us much. Lynch and Paraag would probably get conned and sign him to a long term extension, which he probably doesn't deserve at all.

Honestly I've been watching a lot of tape from last year and AA is always in the back field, he just over runs the play a lot or misses the tackle, it's like he's very unaware at times, plays lost but is always in position to make a big play but wiffs on it..

Both he and ST do this.
