Scouts had mixed reviews on this kid. Can he play in the deep middle? They love safeties who can hit and play the run. So I guess it works.

what? Giving up on ward already?

Probably Eric Reid (3 concussions in the past 2 years)

Bethea won't be back next year

i love him but you may be right, the team is not afraid to cut bait with guys, popular guys. but i think this is more about eric.. erics head does worry me and i think in the back of everyones mind it is a worry to us all ,, the thought of him going down, or bethea going down, with no way to know what ward has and running dahl out there is very frightening

It also tells me we have confidence in our depth at CB which I have thought all along, Reaser and Acker are obviously well thought of and we have Brock, Cook and Wright as weLl. We have a deep CB pool with potential.

due to the fact the team has not rushed right out and drafted a inside backer, might it also say the team is good with bowmans knee and michael w to start the season? we also signed three nice free agent backers including wheeler yesterday who i think could really be good. it also says the draft is deep with wide outs and we have confidence in the two starters, the team will actually develop the two kids from last year and whatever we get from simpson is gravy. there are some needs but they are not GLARING and can be taken care of tonight and saturday in my opinion

i still think wilhoite is a backup. LYNCH, BROOKS, BOWMAN AND ALDON should be our LB starting lineup and a damn good one at that

Haha what!? Ur on crack! Typical madden move here

U think Brooks will be better than wilhoite lol? Wilhoite did well and will get better.

Brooks is old fat n slow, Brooks would suck at this point at ILB

that is why i think the poster is under estimating michael. he is no willis but who is. we need to stop trying to compare anyone to willis,, he can not be replaced,, only succeeded ... i got that from star trek , the undiscovered country

I like the kid. He lays good hits, but I just thought we would get some Offensive players that like the END ZONE. I guess we are looking to stay close with our defense and hopefully we have enough offense to win.

wilhoite will definitely play, i think brooks is one of our best LBs and lynch getting more playing time this year will force brooks back inside. there will be a rotation, but i think brooks starts with Bow

People downplay how good Wilhoite is because we have been spoiled by Willis and Bowman. Most teams in the NFL would love to have Wilhoite as a starter in their defense.

I cant understand why anyone thinks moving Brooks inside is a smart idea.

i would like to think brooks has slimmed down but yes,,, i think there is no need to play him inside if bowmans knee is ok , michael can do the job and by NOT signing a inside backer with the first two picks, the team is telling me bowman is fine

Meanwhile the FO is working on a contract extension for Wilhoite.
Don't follow college football so I don't know any of these players. Tartt seems like he could have been gotten later according to most grades on him but maybe someone else had him targeted. Scouting reports on him seem pretty positive so I guess you just have to wait and see. Two other possible reactions. Baalke in war room, "Samford?? I thought you said Stanford!!" or maybe he's a Game of Thrones fan "Tartt??, I thought you said Tarth!!"
