That doesn't happen as much as you try to make it seem.

Even if not he was late on the TD that got the Rams right back in it immediately after going up 2 scores and again, the dropped INT in the 4Q. Both Ward (esp.) and Tartt had poor playoffs. When the only play maker you have in the back 7 is K'Waun Williams, you've got issues. They're nearly dead last in INT's...again. Remember the record breaking season in lows on turnovers? You aren't winning a Championship with those kinds of players. The Rams caught their INT to seal it. Tartt dropped it. And I appreciate him taking responsibility.

If either he or Ward could generate turnovers WHILE playing sound (and they didn't in the playoffs), they'd be dynamic and big reasons we'd get over the hump.

Oh well. The FO continues to stick with them year after year.
I'd consider bringing him back, but I wouldn't pay much, if anything, I'd draft a safety to groom.

They stick with them because they do their job and do it well and stick to their assignments .

Safety is the cheapest position in the DB - for a reason - most of them cannot catch the ball any better than Tartt.

s**t happens.

Cooper Kupp dropped a much easier pass that playoff game..
I'd offer him the vet minimum and let him test free agency. If someone signs him we may get a comp pick. If not he comes back and competes with Huf and Brisker (rookie) who we will draft.

Ramsey dropped a pick as well. If he makes that catch do you honestly think ultra conservative KS and Jimmy G with his inability to read the field actually do anything?

Tnat wasn't true in Atlanta. Kyle adapted to the personnel.

Yea it's odd. He's played the game the wrong way in all 3 key games. Against the Pats and Chiefs he should've ran the ball about 1-2 more times down the stretch than he did. Against the Rams he called the entire game in a very conservative manner. Like you said , he adapted to the personnel but he still made the wrong calls.

Exactly. I've been saying this as well. Some of these people act like you can't have a solid safety WITH the ability to generate turnovers or game changing plays

At this point I would possibly want Moore to take Tartts spot even if he gives up more yards, he will almost certainly make more plays and turnovers. Hufanga is good but his speed worries me a bit
I had to Google it, I was shocked he's still a FA...

Don't be. The S market is oversaturated like the DL market. It wouldn't surprise me if they resign him and a couple more super cheap veterans before the start of mandatory mini camp. I think we signed like 6 of them last year including Tartt.

Yeah. Moore and Hufanga are two players who tend to be around the ball a lot and get those TO's by being in the right place at the right time. Now, can they grow into cerebral and consistent players as well? If either guy hits, that would be huge for an anti-playmaking secondary.
I didn't realize that ward is a free agent next year. They need to get 2 safeties early in the draft.
