I kind of like this pick. I think ward projects better as a cb due to size. Bethea may retire this year and this big athletic monster is gonna be laying hat in 2016!!

Phoenix's most recent BM knows more about football than you have accumulated in your entire life.
AMEN to that AMP!

First time poster but long time reader. I actually went to Samford and played football with Jaquiski for a year. He is a great kid with phenomenal athletic ability. He also has a great drive. Had a locker right next to him and he was a great kid in the locker room as well. Really excited for his career as a niner and can't believe that we now have a Samford Bulldog!

But the depth.... Ouch
what? lol did you miss the part where he came in game 1 rookie year and was lights out when brock and culliver went down? did you miss his numbers this season when lined up on the outside?
he's been ready to start as an outside cornerback for this team. he only had problems in the slot.. we will not put him in the slot. on the outside he was lights out all year every time he played even when he wasn't supposed to play. breaking up tackles even got a pick 6 to seal a game.. every year people underrate the player we have at the corner back position.
this was the same thing people were saying when culliver was going to be starting and it ended up being a strength. we led the league in interceptions
we'll have bathea and reid back there. brock out there johnson out there and then a whole lot of depth after that. there isn't a rookie that could've been drafted outside of the 1st round that would have been better for us. tartt is the exception because he is a specialist. he is big fast and athletic and lays the wood... that is a direct move to kill that graham hype.

You don't draft for their replacement in the 2nd though....I don't get this pick AT ALL a head scratcher for sure.
MM wasn't lying that we wouldn't get any 2015 starters from this draft, but 2016 might be a different story. I would have loved Strong instead....
Lol two pro bowl safeties and a 1st round pick last year...how many pro bowl WRs do we have currently on the team???

Which I don't get when people complain that the 49ers are drafting backups, any WR they chose would not have been a starter this season either.
Big difference in talent at wr vs safety IMO

Exactly, so would you rather have Tart and Smelter or Strong and any safety we could have drafted in the 4th.

No I'm saying we needed a wr over safety and I don't think there's much to argue about. out of tartt and strong I'd put money on strong on getting more playing time in the next two seasons..
