An "undisclosed injury" will send him to the IR. Hayne Train will make the team

Mike Davis looked like a young Frank Gore out there today i expect us having a 3 headed monster at back this yr. Shoot it might even be a 4 headed monster the way Hayne is playing. Love the depth at RB.

Thought the same running low. Tough yards. Been a long time since I've watch Hearst. It's been all frank for so long. But I would say hyde ismore Hearst . Strong fast and forward

I'm on board with the Gore comparison. Short area quickness, low and hard running. He seems to like reversing the flow of the run, which might work against 2nd stringers, but he'll learn that's not going to work in most cases. He looks like a solid replacement in case Hunter can't recover from his knee injuries. The two aren't similar in styles, but in terms of backup RB, Davis looks like he is capable.

he also protects the ball very well.

I hope not I like Davis...they'll find a spot for Hayne.

Prior to the draft, there was a thread in the Draft Forum where posters tried to predict Baalke's picks. MD was the lone pick I got correct. He is dear to me.
Breaking ankles.

Got some pops to his moves.

Nice throw by Gabbert. Good placement

Only thing he has in common with Hearst is the jersey number. Hearst was one of a kind. Only injury stopped that man. Don't get me wrong, Mike Davis is really really good, and I am impressed.
I like Hunter, but prefer Davis and the Aussie if it's between any of them.
lol He looks like Hunter to me. Put #32 on him. Can't tell the difference.

Nice combo block by the Center. TBrown (#77) serving pancakes. +15 yards
Would be ironic, everyone looking for a more dynamic passing offense going into this year, with addition of Torrey Smith. We might end up having a more dynamic rushing attack with all the RB and the O-line new blocking scheme. More dynamic than Harbaugh's oft touted running game the past few years.

This may not have been the best example to show of Davis. He should have just made one cut for the first down instead of the dance moves that netted him nothing. I know there are many enamored of him, and I like him as well and see some potential there. However, as a couple of other posters have noted, he needs to spend a few less moves laterally and just make one or two cuts, then go vertical. The ability seems to be there. I confess I am shocked, however, at how many are willing to trade this unproven young buck for an established and quite excellent back like Hunter, injury issues aside. How soon we forget.
