I agree with you. I realize he was only a rookie, but he didn't offer much to get excited about.

He did look significantly better at the end of the year vs pre season so that's a good sign. Still a bit indecisive though. But then again, the OL was better too at the end of the year.

Davis should have more of an impact this season , his running style could be an asset when Chip spreads out the offense , his physical running style will be difficult to deal with once the defense isn't loading up the box, and focused on defending the weapons on the outside, who will be used in motion a lot, and those bubble screens Chip loves to use need to be accounted for

Seriously! A 168 yard game behind that OL is the equivalent of a 1,000 yard season.

damn how much sucks is the guy
Eric Branch @Eric_Branch 4h4 hours ago Last year, #49ers Mike Davis became the sixth RB since 1970 to average less than 2.0 yards a carry with at least 35 carries in a season.

LMAO! Dude had a total of 126 snaps all last year with a total of 35 carries. Branch must be bored.
On the real though, Davis has to be feeling the heat now.

With chip new HC surely he had influence in drafting Taylor, if so chip has little incentive to keep Davis around. We all know chip likes the politics of FO

Davis can pass block very well, chip likes that. I don't see them moving on from Davis after 35 carries at all.

The OL play was bad, but also, many rookies think to much, they are learning a new system things that are different in the pros, and have to remember this or that. Hopefully even though its a new system again, he will be more comfortable and just play.

It was a benefit to not be hit behind the line of scrimmage again and again.
