The OL play was bad, but also, many rookies think to much, they are learning a new system things that are different in the pros, and have to remember this or that. Hopefully even though its a new system again, he will be more comfortable and just play.

What you talking about he should have had 1,000 yards rushing in year one so many people in here want instant gratification

I think he gets cut before Hayne.

Hayne will be airmailed back to Kangaroo Land the first time he fumbles a punt return in the preseason.

This^ RB 101 don't fumble and learn to block

Hayne maybe are only return specialist we have no other with upside at the moment. He's new to the game and needs time IMO

What you reference is TWO seperate positions.

Davis never took a PR, so can't have fumbled,

But if we look at Davis position RB then At RB Jaryd Hines never fumbled or dropped a pass....

Looking forward though in anticipation on the battle for RB spots on the depth chart.

The only thing being airmailed I think will be some humble, pie from Australia to hand around some servings in the webzone

Hayne is gonna have to learn the RB position as well as win the PR duties this go around if he's making the team IMO...I'm all for watching the competition and I'll gladly eat some humble pie if he makes a impact .

Going on 29 he's got a up hill battle, they aren't cutting a 23 year old Davis so I think he's gonna have to beat out Harris or draughn should b fun too watch

Hayne is averaging 3 something a carry no fumbles. Davis is under 2 yards a carry and doesn't return punts. Not that far fetched an idea that Hayne lasts longer.
I'd say Davis is now a longshot to make the team...after Hyde, Draughn, Harris, Taylor & Hayne, there most likely won't be roster space for another RB.

Who is to say that he doesnt beat all those guys out? He was a rookie that had a limited number of snaps behind a s**t OL.

His competition is a rugby player and a couple of guys that have been cut by about half the league and picked up off the street.

I wouldnt write Davis off just yet. Behind Hyde he has the most ideal traits for the inside zone stuff that Kelly runs.

Yep, plus Draughn and Harris are on one year deals. You don't give up on a 4th round talent like that unless he's an absolute scrub and non fit in the system. He ran in spread looks at South Carolina though so I don't see the latter being an issue.

People live in the moment too much. Harris has been passed around the league like a peace pipe and Draughn was working at a bowling alley when the 49ers picked him up. I dont see either of them being a lock to make the roster. Hayne certainly isnt a lock for anything. He is still learning the game and pass protection and ball control were his two buggaboo's last season.

I could see a healthy Davis doing well behind an improved OL. After his sophomore year he was talked about as an early 2nd round prospect potentially but then had an iffy junior year where he struggled with injuries, didnt look the same.
