Lol 35 career attempts and he automatically sucks!? Instant gratification is ridiculous with some of you...What the hell were you hoping for in hayne? Dude fumbled first time he got the ball in the regular season and didn't even understand RB fundamentals, but yes we are doomed without him lol.

How about you look at how they made improvements to the OL long with getting a head coach that KNOWS how to run the ball why can't any of our current RBs be better?

good post 85. plus you know any way they can find a way to bash trent.

No team is going to have three Adrian Peterson's in the starting lineup. I happen to really like the combo of Hyde and DuJuan Harris. Harris averaged 5.2 yards per carry in limited action and showcased the speed to be a threat in certain packages. I liked the pick of Mike Davis last year but he's going to have to read blocks better and not dance at the line. I understand the blocking was terrible, but even when it wasn't, Davis was indecisive and didn't do much to break tackles or slip through the hole. Davis also continued the trend he started in college of dealing with injuries. You won't be here long if you can't stay on the field. Especially after last season, we'll have less patience for that.

Aside from Hyde, I don't believe any of the 4 other runners are locks to make the roster. Harris was given that two year extension and he has KR ability. He has speed that the others don't. If healthy, he's probably the next safest. Draughn has STs ability, and is a veteran presence, but isn't a special runner athletically. He's very tough though, blocks solidly, and gets that extra yard pushing hard for yards after contact. Davis and Taylor are all potential.

Harris is nice, surprised no other team picked him up before us. I'm guessing his size is a factor, and his pass protection might be bad, though I haven't seen us asking him to pass protect too much or at all last season.

Harris has gone through 7 teams since 2011. He has only played more than 5 games in a season once in his career. His ball security is questionable at best which is why Green Bay and Seattle parted with him.

He's like most other guys you find off the street, talented but flawed. My hope is that Davis and Taylor both play well enough that the team doesnt have to rely on Harris or Draughn.

Ah, so that's it. Well that can be fixed then. And ball security didn't seem to an issue last year. The fact that he can catch the ball and has the quickness / speed to break off long runs, spells Hyde perfectly.
You will have to admit, however, when last yr we released Hayne, and then Hyde went down, that Du Juan and Draughn were two pretty spectacular add ons....out of Walmart and a used car lot... And , behind an awful OL of Martin, pears and Devey, those two backs played damn well.
I wonder if they will sign a RB to replace Hayne on the 90 man roster.

He's a career #3 backup type RB. In 2 and 1/2 seasons with Green Bay he had around 220 total yards rushing. With Seattle he averaged 2 yards a carry. Baltimore signed him and then just cut him.

Odds are that this is not the droid...err RB that you are looking for.

Maybe not, it's hard to be realistic about guys you pick up off the street, but it wouldn't the first time it worked out. Hopefully he's a late bloomer, and we finally have that #2 RB that is quick/fast and can catch.
Davis and Taylor both coming thru would be great news for us. But DeJuan and Draughn both filled in well last yr, when the chips were down. Actually, they both played very well, considering the terrible triumvirate that had blocking for them.

Take away the RB1 from every NFC west team, and then rank which team has the best stable of RBs leftover.

The only problem with that is they had other playmakers in different position, RB was our only hope.
