How about now?

LOL no. This dude did well last preseason too. And then... fail.

He's doing what he needs to do to stay on the 53. But he will need to do this (or close to) in the regular season. Otherwise, he'll be a midseason cut.

The standards of acceptance on this preseason wonder are so low. I think Davis can be okay. But as we know, his preseason has not translated to the regular season. Show us.

What are you talking about? His one run of 44 was more than he had in any preseason game last year. And he played against the twos and threes last year. This kid has lost weight, is a lot faster, and is running more decisive.

I'm saying chill out. No doubt he's doing what he needs to do to get on the 53. But he needs to show it translates to the regular season. That is all. Yeesh.

How is he supposed to do that in the preseason? All youre doing is moving the goalposts. At first you said he would need to do well against the 3rd string to have any chance at making the roster, now that he looked pretty good against the 1st and 2nd string youre like "well this is just preseason, he needs to get it done in the regular season." Well no duh.

@OkKid - you gave Davis a deadline of 3rd preseason in your original post.

Are you now saying don't cut him and see how he does in regular season?
That lost weight has really helped with his burst.
IIRC he did most of his damage outside the hashes.
I'm interested in seeing if he can do the same inside now.

His conditioning has been up and down since college. Dude needs to stay motivated, he has the ability to be a good RB.

The way he split the two defenders was pretty awesome. They both had a good shot at tackling him and he just ran right by them.
Looked really good yesterday against backups, hopefully he can stay consistent.
This years Kory Sheets.

Yeah, he's got to at least show something in the preseason -- which he is doing (and did last season). That's all he can do at this point.

I'm saying if he continues to do well in the preseason, and flops again in the regular season, he needs to go. If he keeps it going in the regular season -- that's fantastic, we need all the help we can get. But it seems to get hyped about a kid that hasn't done anything of merit in the regular season. Same with Buckner, same with anybody who hasn't done it yet. Time will tell.

I'm saying chill the F out. Fans gonna fan though. He is doing well in the preseason, all that he can do. But why in the hell would anybody put long term stock in a kid who hasn't shown he can do it during the regular season? I want this kid to be relevant as much as you do. But I think we need to raise our standards for hypedom.

Exactly. Rooting for him. Consistency wasn't his thing last year. Hope he has turned it around.
I'm just glad he did not fumble..lol

Except Davis was getting his yards in the 1st half against 1st and 2nd stringers already in the NFL, not in the 4th quarter against guys who will be working at Jiffy Lube in a few weeks.
