Except Davis was getting his yards in the 1st half against 1st and 2nd stringers already in the NFL, not in the 4th quarter against guys who will be working at Jiffy Lube in a few weeks.

Lol pre season rushing champion. Arrow up

@OkKid - you gave Davis a deadline of 3rd preseason in your original post.

Are you now saying don't cut him and see how he does in regular season?

Yeah, he's got to at least show something in the preseason -- which he is doing (and did last season). That's all he can do at this point.

I'm saying if he continues to do well in the preseason, and flops again in the regular season, he needs to go. If he keeps it going in the regular season -- that's fantastic, we need all the help we can get. But it seems to get hyped about a kid that hasn't done anything of merit in the regular season. Same with Buckner, same with anybody who hasn't done it yet. Time will tell.

Yeah sorry - didn't mean to double up on you as someone else responded.
Carry on sir.

But why in the hell would anybody put long term stock in a kid who hasn't shown he can do it during the regular season? I want this kid to be relevant as much as you do. But I think we need to raise our standards for hypedom.

What long term stock? People are excited about the guy looking good, looking to be in better shape and having a pretty good day. He looked more like the guy that I saw at South Carolina in 2013 than at anytime since. He's healthy, he's fit and he did well when he actually had some holes to run through. Its promising and something he hopefully continues to build on because he'd be a good fit in this current offense.

You were basically convinced that the guy was going to flop because of 35 carries in his rookie season, so keep throwing all the salt you like, I'm going to root for Davis to continue to do well.

No worries.
Forget Davis. Draughn looks real good.
Either our 1st and 2nd string oline is beastly or the Texans line sucks, because everyone not name Gaskins beasted out last night. Taylor doesn't count, but even he got more than 2 yds.

The OL looked good, really good at times. Garnett went in there and was chucking people to the ground. Brown and Tiller did pretty well for the most part. In terms of run blocking particularly they looked like a night and day difference from the overmatched and overwhelmed group we saw most of last season.

I think they both look real good. But come on. Davis looks so much faster than he did last year it's ridiculous.
I think the offense last year especially under that PISTOL FORMATION just makes everyone look sloppy and slow.. it's just too tight.. then the idea of sending a FB in motion wide right... eewwwhhhh... really too scary for the opposing defenses..

Yes exhibition game and season, however last year looking at him, you could tell he was getting used to the NFL, thinking to much, this year he is faster, no real hesitation. Helps also when you are on the bubble. I also think Chip's style of offense suits him better. The type of O makes a ton of difference, just look at Demarco Murray his style of running was ill suited, L. McCoy was more suited and thus thrived.
