RB Mike Davis

Would be a nice #2 if he can keep up the production
Yea this guy is making the 53. Draughn, Harris should be shook

He is in great shape, he showed great decisiveness and burst. He will be the #2 Draughn is a bum. Plus Mike D is a nice handcuff for Hyde in fantasy
I think our RBs will be Hyde then a mix of Draughn/Davis/Taylor
were his big runs against texans no 2?

But why in the hell would anybody put long term stock in a kid who hasn't shown he can do it during the regular season? I want this kid to be relevant as much as you do. But I think we need to raise our standards for hypedom.

Long term stock He was a rookie last yr behind a horrible OL and got hurt after only 35 carries.

I don't get what you mean by long term stock anyway he's on a cheap rookie contract for the next three seasons.

IIRC he did most of his damage outside the hashes.
I'm interested in seeing if he can do the same inside now.

IIRC, the his 1st big run was b/w RG and RT.
First viewing of game was yesterday on NFLN. I am amazed at some folks saying they aren't impressed by our RBs, once past Hyde. To that I say, were you really watching the game? Last yr with NO OL, Shaun and Draughn actually looked pretty good, which is saying a lot with nobody blocking for you. Mike Davis put on a real show for us, and made his claim to be one of the RBs in rotation with Hyde. Way faster and shifter than last yr, way quicker. Yeah, the Texans had a couple guys who didn't tackle very well, but still, Davis really made a legit claim to be in rotation. And I put Shaun and draughn in the same category.

How someone can look at our RBs and say we need help at RB....is a mystery to me. Minus Hyde last yr and with no OL, Shaun and draughn played extremely well. And Davis put on a show. So we got holes on our team, but to me, anyway, not at RB.

I'd have to agree based on prelim evidence. If they can sustain their level of play, and hopefully build on it, RB will be ok. Davis looked like a different runner this past game. Again, hope it sticks and he excels with each opportunity.

It's also funny that there are fans who want to cut McDonald b/c he doesn't have Madden-like pass catching numbers. So why did Davis have such success? Because the RT's are crashing down the entire left side of the defense and leaving only the TE's to block out the final defender for huge holes like this for Davis to run through. For instance, the first running play (2nd play) of the first series, McDonald doesn't do a great job and that defender stuffs Hyde - Hyde sucks! Later, Bell blocks out that defender and Mike Davis is seen above on a 40+ run - Mike Davis is awesome! LOL

Believe me, McDonald, Bell, Celek and perhaps, Miller, are going to be crucial to not only this run game but the passing game now too!
Did this guy drop a bunch of weight or take some performance-enhancing drugs? He looks much much quicker, I know he had the power in him like the straight arm he did but he never even came close to that burst and it wasn't just an indecision thing. He looked a little like Gore but a little faster
Hyde, Draughn, and Davis will probably our 3 man rushing attack. We shall see if we keep a 4th RB.

Lost a lot of weight...his issue at South Carolina was conditioning, talent is there.

He looked a lot like this guy when everyone and their uncle was talking him up as a potential 2nd round pick.

The footwork/change of direction at speed to beat the defender at 2:30 was awesome.

This. Shocked me big time. Another performance or 2 like that and he could be on the roster for sure

Completly AGREE

I was wrong about him
