he's the guy that replaced Latt at SC and it's ironic enough that he will be the guy to replace Latt in SF...
I'm really excited about the RB groups that we have.. Dr. Davis & Mr Hyde can be the punishing tandem, and just when the opposing team are hurtin and tired on their last heal, the Splash Brothers 2 of Bush and Hunter can run around w/ their speed.
I only wish that Baalke had signed Reggie to 2 or 3 year contract.... he's already our best punt returner, and I wish he can finish his career her

gore never had that break away speed but he was the fastest back in the world for 30-40 yards. if this kid is half the RB Gore was, we should all be stoked to have him
Gore had plenty of speed. Him and Barry Sanders are the only RBs to have two 70yrd TD runs in one game.
Davis is no Bush when it comes to speed.. But if he can pound the ball 5 yards at a time, and can learn how to use his lead blockers, Davis will just be fine..
Heck, Bettis was big and low, but did you all see the 40+ yards he scored against the speed of Tampa Bay Defense??
For a RB, give me short area quickness over straight ahead speed any day. Only once in awhile will a RB find himself running in a straight line down the field. But on every single carry, he has to evade DLs/LBs where agility trumps speed in terms of importance. Just watched the highlight reel that was posted by DeUh and I like how he ran in both a power blocking scheme and a zone blocking scheme. He showed good patience to allow blocks to develop in the power blocking plays, as well as good decisive cuts on the inside zone plays.
Short, runs low, good change of direction. Don't want to get too excited after watching a highlight clip because a player always looks good in his highlight clip. This guy could push Hunter off the roster if Hunter doesn't have a good showing.

Great Pick ....But I doubt he will see many snaps in the regular season, something tells me Kendall Hunter is going to run that rock HARD next season

Gore is an amazing back dude but top end speed is something he never had. a lot of things have to happen for gore to finish a long run. he got caught from behind a lot. for those first 40 or so yards hes the best ever. not taking anything the man has done for granted. gore is in my top 5 niners of all time but he was never a burner

What I noticed, in regards to his quickness, is that he has very little wasted movement. Jerry rice was like that. No wasted steps, just a little lean here and there to weave past people. He's plenty fast enough.
Totally man. 4.6 running backs never make it in the NFL.
LOL I think the fastest time this year at the combine for a RB was like a 4.42, so there weren't really any burners. Duke Johnson ran a 4.54 and Abdullah ran a 4.6 at the combine and everyone thinks they play faster than that...Davis ran a 4.6 and is over 10 lbs bigger than both of them...He ran between a 4.38-4.45 on his pro day so take that for what you want.
Not to be a hater but he looks like your average 3rd string RB
How so? after the 2013 season he was regarded as the 3rd best back behind Gurley and Gordon...he dealt with injuries and condition was a bit of a issue. I think we got a steal in the draft if he can focus on staying in shape.
