Brown has made the most strides of any of the team's rookies since reporting to the practice facility.
Measured at 6 foot 8 1/2, 355 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine he is already noticeably in better physical condition under the team's nutrition plan and workout regimen.
Aside from his enormous stature the one characteristic that stands out on the practice field are his nimble feet. He said he owes it to his earlier sports experiences as well as daily offseason work with an Agility Ladder.

so much fun seeing these battles , i know some are scared but to see the guys who want to be here, who want to be a part of the team and who want to make the final 53 is very very exciting. kudos to reggie, dockett and smith for taking the ball and running with it in terms of leadership. as long as the guys avoid injuries and ck does not pull a rat and tear his groin muscle to the bone in camp, it is a very very exciting time to be a niner fan

NC, I also thot Kwame was the prototype, too....and that didn't turn out too well. But this is an entirely different big. I think if he shows promise he gets the nod over the pick before him, just based on massive-ness.
Massive-ness is right!
You got that right - I hate to pay for his food bill.

Man, if I were him and the position I've wanted for years just popped open, I'd be at 4949 Centennial the next day, studying a playbook (iPad) before the coaches arrived.
Agree
I also wonder if A Davis had let Boone know about his plans. They had to be preety good buds.
If so, then Boone should be in excellent shape and aggressively going after the RT job.

I thnk that this coaching style will go out of their way to inject new starters in the preseason just to see how they (young ones or veterans) would respond..
there are players when are drafted low would not set their ceiling high and just go about the business on he being a project.. then there are some low picks, very low picks that once get the chance to play and start, that you'd have to kill them in order to regain your position.
I remember when we traded for the Raiders Dokie Williams and the Chargers' Wes Chandler, both players didn't even bother playing to their capabilities during the preseason that Chandler ended up retiring rather than being cut after a couple of games and Dokie getting cut because some late round rookie named John Taylor was out performing both of them during training camp..

Wow. That's great news. He could be our future LT when Staley hangs them up in a few years ( or tomorrow unexpectedly)

Sounds like the kid follows orders and is dedicated to his craft. Good news. If he can be a surprise RT that would bode well for us.
Can he play guard?

I swear, for a month, I couldn't even place him at T and only saw him a as a G b/c of his size...guess NOT! That's very impressive. We'll see how he does with the pads on playing full speed soon.
Anyone know if Boone DID show up today?

He would be one big fat guard and that would be awesome. Our middle has been soft.

Yup. Dockett was quoted as stating that he and Boone passed each other in the hall several times before they spoke. Dockett asked Boone if he was gonna retire, too, and Boone replied, "Nah."

If Pears is a liability at RT why doesn't the coaching staff give this kid a chance. Pears is a better guard then Tackle with the whole right side of the line being new why risk having someone like Pears play RT when we all know he probably will make the right side of the line even weaker then what it already is.
I say start Trent at RT lets see how he fairs when they throw the pads on.

I have already posted elsewhere that somewhere around midseason, a guy who casts a wide, tall shadow is going to start on the OL for us.
