I say start Trent at RT lets see how he fairs when they throw the pads on.

The stats for Pears is that he is a good T in the ZBS...terrible G in power. So right now, with his experience, veterans ALWAYS get first dibs. But like you noted, Brown will get plenty of looks...as will Silberman and others. In the end, it's Pears job to win at start but if Brown or another prove their worth, esp. under this coaching staff, he'll get the nod no doubt. Last I heard he was in the 350's and by now, is probably in the 340's...there are plenty of T's who play in that range and with the athleticism and quick feet of Brown, this could be great! The team wanted all players to meet a specified weight per Ian Rapaport and all met them...I wonder what Brown's was. 345? 350?

I think you have that backwards. Pears is 'ok' at T, but he was pretty bad at G, at least in the scheme the Bills employed last season.

Yeah that's what I've heard as well

This has been covered and if nails it down it will give Big Brown time to learn and get better.

Center and RG are the Big questions to me.

Makes no sense to me why boone isnt at RT.

I just went back and re-read this thread pretty much all the way through from the beginning. Interesting the way things are working out with this situation. Hope Brown can contribute from the start, but I have serious doubts.

I still hope they at least try sliding Boone over to RT and try Martin/Thomas/Pears as LG. As I remember, Boone filled in for Davis pretty well at RT.

Physically, the guy has the goods. But, he looks young and plays green; not being active with his lower body and bending his waist and reaching a lot.

Heres the deal: we cant put this guy on the PS, because he will play for another team this year if we do. He can play right now; just has to mature. Could be a ten-year guy.

Yeah, I thought he played pretty darn well...from the OTA's he was great also, then TC (not so much) but he may be a "gamer." He got beat on a good speed rush but still had the long arms to push the defender out wide but Thompson's dumbazz stepped BACKWARDS right into it for a safety instead of up in the clean pocket.

I think hee's get sooped up fast.

He definitely isn't ready to start BUT could be a guy to keep and develop.
Man, I agree. Brown is gone quick if we don't have him on the team. The guy is a mountain and for a rook, looked good, darn good. LIke Wally says, we need to keep him and develop him. I don't think he is that far off from being a potential starter. Maybe late this yr, but PT in games is what will help him most...so good to see him out there in first PS game.
Don't think he played bad for a 7th round pick.

Exactly, couple more games before I come to the conclusion that he's too good for the PS. Fact is, if he's playing, the QB may be in trouble. But, maybe I'm wrong.
