They couldn't trade Davis because nobody would want a quitter on the team. Davis has never played guard, so I don't know if he could replace Boone at RG. I think he probably could, but you never know.

considering boone is a left guard he would be replacing martin/silberman/thomas. Two I think he would beat out brown at tackle. Three, any team would trade for him because there isnt a lot of good tackle play in the nfl compared tot the past. Seriously, there is probably a handful of elite to high level tackles who actually have a complete game. While I wouldnt say AD has been elite, he was really good and probably a top 3 RT the last time he was fully healthy in 2012.

Trade him to the Cards for a high draft pick since they cant draft an OL to save their lives. The worst part is that their GM is a former OL and OL coach.

Agree.

Find the 3-5 worst teams that have the worst OLines in the league and start wheeling and dealing

The thing about which I disagree in this post is saying any team would trade for AD. Nobody's gonna trade for a quitter. The Niners already own his contract, so they're stuck with it. Other teams aren't gonna risk trading something valuable and then losing AD to retirement.

If AD returns with his mind right and healthy and physically up to par he's starting here. He quit but I know what happened the last couple games of the season to our run game when he was right. We ran through teams and if Hyde Davis or Hunter are running behind him we will be bludgeoning teams. He is a young player on a pretty good deal for us. With the shortage of great proven OL in this league I'd keep him. He'll only help our OL to be a strength
As Yogi Berra said, The Future ain't what it used to be."

If, as many of us are hoping, Trent Brown emerges by the end of the season as starter caliber then who knows!

He sure has improved - Pass blocked well against Dallas.

A lot can and will happen by the time the season ends.

We may get a surprise pick-up on the waiver wire that fits what we do.

Either way, AD is a big gambling piece we can either keep or trade.

Depending on the team's need at the time.

I think people would be willing to give him a chance if he wasn't making so much money. To take a risk on the guy AND pay him handsomely will make him impossible to trade, IMO.

I would take him back. If Brown could play RG him and Davis could absolutely maul people. May not be a good fit for our new ZBS, but damn. Singletary would approve for sure.

Off-topic: But the Cardinals really are set up for failure this season. They were UNBELIEVABLY lucky last year. They have zero contingency plans at QB. No RBs to speak of, no OL and a mediocre secondary after Peterson. And even Peterson was terrible last year.

I really hope this dude turns into something for us. Looks like he needs to hit the weights a bit. Big frame but not as filled out as you'd think. I'm sure that will come with time in an NFL lifting program.

Totally agree with that part. However, I don't think anyone would trade for him because they would have to risk him retiring again. The 49ers are already on the hook for that risk, so it's 49er or retirement for AD.

It's the same reason that if Chris Borland came back & wanted to play he wouldn't have any trade value.

I hope he ends up starting sooner than later because Pears is that bad

I think GB would kill for Borland. Bring him home and hope he sticks. You're right about trades though. I think CB talked his value way down and I can't ever see him playing again. AD will have a market if we tried to trade him I believe. Rex Ryan is in love with him
