Who cares if you think that you got enough knowledge to separate the more talented from the less talented players, you don't need any stats

I agree he has the talent. I am always curious to see how the pros grade pros.

The knock on Brown seemed to be a lack of work ethic, not a lack of talent.
Do they explain every grade?

PFF explains their grading process at their site.
I'd like to see this guy start over Anthony Davis.

So he will need to put back some pounds and get ready to play guard.

That's good to hear. Actually, it kind of makes sense because it's unnatural for these dudes to maintain 320+ pounds. I remember reading about Alan Faneca, that dude lost a ton of weight immediately after he stopped playing.

Hoping Davis comes back in great health and is ready to factor into the RT spot or one of the guard spots. We're going to need him.

I am not convinced that the way the game is evolving that a 320 pound guy is what is required. I would like to see Davis come back at about the same 315 as Staley.

When I look at some of the best offensive linemen around the league, I don't see a lot of gut hanging over their belt. I want to see quicker and more agile linemen and that usually means that Pot Roast need not apply.

Is QB an issue? Not really. Fix the problems first, take a QB later if you must.
I agree I'm tired of us trying to plug circular holes with square blocks. Boone shouldn't have played G for us either. Davis reminds me a lot of Larry Allen. He was never great in pass protection at T (which is why he was on the right). He could dominate completely at G IMO. Was always a guy who rarely lost at the point, just struggled to find his man at times.

Guys who are 6'8 aren't really suited to playing G. Doesn't mean they can't, but it's so far below ideal. Just simple leverage and the nature of the position. Not to mention they take up throwing lanes even more so.

So much this IMO.

I would love to be able to address our o-line in free agency. Honestly don't know if it's a huge need for us if we go Staley/Tiller/Kilgore/ADavis/Brown. I'd love to have that group work for us and add depth in free agency and mid rounds in the draft.

Agreed. The game is transitioning toward more spread passing, and more quicker/agile lineman.

If Davis comes back and they move him to guard, I think he needs to play om the left side. Let Tiller & Thomas battle it out for the RG spot.

I'm in favour of trading Staley though if Davis comes back. Davis can play LT.

I like the idea of Davis at LG as well. Boone looks like he'll leave in FA. Davis could be a more long-term answer at LG if he comes back committed.

Next year we could be looking at Staley-Davis-Kilgore-Tiller-Brown. Not too shabby on paper.

Switch Tiller and Davis and you've got it.

I only say that because Davis is used to the right side and Tiller is working at LG (in anticipation of Boone bolting).

I'd put Davis st LG, so he'd have more familiarity with the footwork at LT if Staley went down.he's much younger than Staley, too, so we could easily backfill the position when the Joe show retires.

we still can not pass on Tunsil if he's there.. our rookie Brown can either lock up the RT for the next 5 years if we can develop him and Tunsil can replace the overrated Pro Bowler in Staley..

Boone should be a part of the packer (Reid & Boone) trade during the off-season.. if Davis do comeback, let him ease his way in at the RG position..

Why not??? Davis is a head case, you can't count on him, and Goff is just spit balling something that may work out two years from mow.

I like how you guys think!
we shouldnt be ready to crown this kid as a starter at RT for next season. He still needs a year or two to develop. He would make a good backup tho.

I say we sign Cordy Glenn (solid and reasonable price) as RT. Restructure A.Davis's contract for a G position and move him to LG. Keep Tiller at RG and Kilgore at C. Draft Tunsil if he falls to us and see if we can fit him into the line somehow.

It might seem overkill but we have got to be 100% sure we have a functional O-line or our offense wont click.

As for defense, i think we only need a slightly above average pass rusher opposite to lynch to have a top 10 defense.

I think it makes more sense to just sign another guard. Ad is still young and quick enough to play tackle.

why does everyone want to move Davis to G again?
